( Tehnical Issues with the Mics ) podcast Episode #4 is out with guest host Joy -!!💕
It is Day 7 of my post-exposure rabies series, and the clock has officially run out. Today was the absolute final medical deadline to correct a critical error: the incorrect administration of my rabies immunoglobulin.
Despite having the state health department ,CDC, on my side, primary doctors agreeing there was a mistake, and bringing in a patient safety liaison to fight the case, the system failed. Everyone specialized in this states rabies series acknowledged the error needed fixed this date it is the last day it can be fixed but when it came down to actual ex*****on, nothing happened. To make matters worse, the RN who never gave me my first series of shots or globulin swore up and down that it was fine, my chart and other people she called like the pharmacist stated I was going to be fine insisting the medicine was already in my system and swearing that I would be okay—gaslighting me instead of fixing the negligence.
In this episode, I share the exhausting reality of advocating for your own health against institutional inertia, the terrifying feeling of a missed medical window, and what happens when healthcare workers cover for their mistakes while the safety nets completely fall apart. Followers Everyones
