Time to step out.

After a 1 1/2 years of experimenting with soap formulas, I’ve put together a process and bought equipment to sustainably make enough soap for continuous sales. $2 from every bar sold will be donated to the ministry indefinitely. So the more soap sold, the more money will be going toward financially and spiritually supporting families in need.

bluebeeflorida.com is now live (under construction) and the site will launch an online shop in three weeks. If you’ve used my soap before, the bars being sold will be roughly 33% larger than those I’ve given out and the packaging will change a bit, but the overall formulas I use won’t be much different.

Hope you all can make it out to the site soon and see what the future of Blue Bee looks like.

I’ve been making soap for over a year now. This week I started a collaboration with by using their espresso in the lye solution to make a bar of coffee infused soap. We did this by amalgamating some of the oils used in African-black soap with my standard formulas.

We made something special. Unable to wait until the soap bars cure to try it out, I used a corner piece to wash my hands. The soap leaves an intensely moisturizing residue on the skin that’s not oily. With honey and beeswax from my bee hives and vanilla fragrance it smells like a mocha latte. The caffein from the espresso used in the lye concentrate helps remove cellulite and tighten skin.

Pretty pumped to get this batch cured and sent out. Game changer.

This isn’t my honey. It’s my mom’s honey. I drove a few hives out to Oklahoma last year. Those hives didn’t survive the winter, but she bounced back and bought 3 more colonies. This is her first honey harvest and I couldn’t be more proud.

Last mite check before I start ramping up for split and honey season. Three of the five hives look great. Solid brood pattern, queen looks healthy, two hives need mite treatments. Looking forward to that first nectar flow.

Some of the last orders from the blue and lavender batches went out. About to really step up the production and get the website going. If there’s anything about this business that you really appreciate, or think would be cool on the website, shoot me a DM. I want all of you to feel like you’re building this with me.

Found out I can make lip balm and body butter with all the stuff I have lying around to make soap.

And just like that. I never have to worry about losing my lip balm, ever again.

I’ve got 20 of these. I’m not sending any through mail. I don’t even know if they’re good or not. If you want to try one ask at church. I’ll have them in my guitar case.

I’ve got about 70 bars available in roughly a week. The bulk are the blue and lavender colored bars. I won’t be shipping a ton of these, so hit me up if you’re local and want a bar.

Payment will be donation based toward

I cut the soap we made for Father’s Day with honey and wax my little brother pulled from one of the hives. He wanted to stamp the soap himself with the Blue Bee press because he was so proud. It was….adorable….

So there it is. Our first unofficial jar of honey. One of the hives I cracked open today had a ton of honey-filled burr comb that needed to be scraped off to make room for a honey super. It yielded about a pound of honey and wax. Y’all there isn’t anything sweeter than eating a hunk of honey comb straight out of the hive. Should be a limited first harvest sale coming up, all proceeds going to Selah Place Ministry this year.
