The danger about some styles aren’t always just about if there’s too much tension or whether or not the ends are tucked away. Sometimes, it’s about the takedown.

If it’s too tight, not properly maintained, or hard to take down it can lead to breakage and even cutting your own hair during the takedown process.

Her previous stylist did a phenomenal job with this style! My client just needed some extra assistance with her takedown because let’s be real, it’s hard to see the back of our heads.

Protection isn’t just about the style—it’s about maintaining the integrity of your hair underneath. So we decided to do a crotchet style where there’s less tension, the ends are tucked away, and the takedown is much easier, no scissors needed! It’s also why we did a keratin treatment a few months back to help smooth down her cuticle and fill in the holes where protein was missing from her hair.
