One of the most challenging yet fulfilling acne bootcamp cases I’ve ever had 💌

What is 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕? You might’ve heard this term used in the context of acne, however it is not considered to be a type of acne itself.

𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕 happens when skin cells (keratinocytes) get ‘stuck’ in the hair follicle (don’t fully mature or shed as they should) leading to clogged pores. Which can then trap oil, bacteria, & debris therefore contributing to breakouts.

So while it’s not a type of acne, it still is a skin condition that can contribute to acne formation.

While remaining consistent at home with the correct skin routine + remaining consistent in clinic with biweekly appointments, my client & I were able to create = a dynamic duo not to be messed with 🤞🏼
