cy is about talent and beauty, but the most beautiful aspect is that it’s really all been about family. Growing up, David went directly to his mother’s boutique after school where he learned first hand the craft of a high-class stylist. From a young age he built his skillset and worked on clients until he eventually took over the business at age 15. Because of his mother’s reputation, he was able to break into the film industry, and went to work as an on-set stylist for major celebrities early in his career. Though Los Angeles is where he’d reach new heights, it wasn’t his work that brought him to America, but rather, his mother, as they sought treatment for her cancer. Sadly, she would pass, but because of their trip and her lasting impression, David remained in LA. Within six months of selling the boutique in Damascus, he’d opened a salon in LA and built a reputation. One of his early clients happened to be a producer on the Jay Leno Show, and soon David was hired as the show’s main stylist. From there his client list grew, and being no stranger to working with the stars, David was a natural fit. The secret to David’s success, however, isn’t what he does for his clients, but how he treats them. “To me everyone is a celebrity, because we’re all people, we’re all special,” he says. He reflects on his mother’s experience with chemotherapy, her worrying about losing her hair and eyebrows, when he decided he’d offer hair extensions to cancer patients, “my job can help the way people feel about themselves.”

David also created a beautiful family of his own, and credits much of his success to his loving wife, Stephani, who’s played a significant role in his professional life, and his three children. Chandler, the “E” being an homage to his children; Elijah, Edyn, and Eva. The youngest of whom, Eva, is already displaying incredible artistic talent and David’s certain she’ll one day take over the family business. Whether it’s his family’s heritage or its future, there’s an elegance to it, a beauty, and certainly an art. It’s the gift of empowerment, and it’s a legacy that’s now been passed down generations, from his grandmother on to his children. And still, with all his credentials, David continues to see the special in all of us, and make his journey a family affair.
