St. John's Wort 🌼

I'm harvesting St. John’s Wort today—one of my favorite medicinal plants 🌿 Traditionally used as a nervine, it’s my top pick for supporting nerve pain and healing burns. It also shines as a powerful antiviral, especially against the herpes virus—making it incredibly helpful for cold sores and chicken pox.

☀️ Because SJW is in full bloom during the summer solstice, it's said to hold the energy of the sun and can be useful against anxiety and depression when taken internally as a tincture- just be careful if you're on any other medications ⚠️

I got to visit my girls yesterday 🐝

Being able to work with local beeswax is one of my favorite parts of making balms. I love its scent, its gifts—but most of all, how it keeps me rooted in the rhythms of the earth 🌎

And just like that, my apothecary shelves are empty.

I’ve been a little quiet lately — life has been asking a lot — but I’m not closing up shop, just moving it to new home! 🏠

So many emotions are wrapped up in this moment. This space was built from the scraps of a tired heart, and somehow, it became the place where I grew roots. Here, I found plant medicine — and I found myself.

I love watching beeswax melt into salve 🐝 It looks different every single time, almost like a work of art. This is a big ol' batch of Warming Salve, which lends a beautiful reddish color to this photo.

Warming Salve is a popular salve this time of year. Its unique, versatile warming properties are beneficial for so many common ailments. Keeping herbal energetics in mind, this salve gets the blood moving to warm up and soothe wherever it's applied. I've personally used it on cold feet, varicose veins, and sore muscles (including the lower stomach for menstrual cramps!), but it's useful for so much more, including neuropathy, carpal tunnel, and even bruises! It's truly amazing what the earth gives us 🌎🌿

Straining herbal-infused oils is more than just a step in the process—it's a grounding ritual. 🌿

As the herbs are pressed and the oil flows, I feel like I'm connecting with nature's gifts and the ancient art of herbalism. The simple act of straining can take some time, and it invites mindfulness, patience, and gratitude, reminding us to slow down.

I am guilty of trying to rush the process some days. As a mom first and foremost, it’s easy to feel the pull to rush through moments like these. Slowing down isn’t always easy, but when I do, it’s a gift to myself—a reminder to be present, even in the midst of life’s chaos 🌼

The next 4 weeks are going to be absolutely wild, but I'm here for it 🙌 I currently have 7 gallons of oil infusing and ready to be turned into salves (that's a record) and hope I will have enough product to make it through the month.
