I did a foot detox the other day!! 😱
This is the first time I’ve tried this, but paranoia is set in and I’m convinced I have some sort of parasite or something 😅😅
Not really, kind most definitely kind of…
So I’m just trying to take some steps to clean out my body some more.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! TELL THE STATE NOT TO PUSH THROUGH THE PROPOSED LAW REVISION!

Currently, the Michigan State Board of Cosmetology is using unclear wording in the revision of the state law and here are JUST A FEW of the issues:

· The state is making it illegal for an esthetician/cosmetologist to do something as simple as exfoliate the skin.

· Estheticians/cosmetologists will not be allowed to recommend products for something as simple as dry skin.

· Estheticians will not be allowed to perform safe services (after proper training) such as dermaplaning – temporary removal of peach fuzz on the face.

·If these changes happen, estheticians will not only lose income, they will struggle to make ends meet.

If you know or 🖤 love an esthetician or cosmetologist, or enjoy to receive services such as facials, dermaplaning and any spa services, please take 5 minutes and ask them to NOT approve the current draft.

Today we did a dermaplane followed by a TCA 20% with two passes to strengthen the depth. After finishing products I applied a PPLA (poly l-lactic acid) Hydrojelly mask for full protection absorption and to help calm down the skin from the peel.

This was my second trip to Wolverine High School Life Skills class to perform a demo and “tell my story.”
It felt like a combination of an AA open talk and a skin care demo. I think it’s really important to share the whole story. Because behind every success, there’s a disaster that got me here.
This is a small town right next to the small town I grew up in, in northern Michigan. I come from the same place as these kids. We share some of the same struggles. And I guess this is also a way for grown up Malorie to tell teenage Malorie that there IS light at the end of the tunnel. There is always a choice. You’re not stuck here forever. This place does not define you.
I shared some of the things I had to learn the hard way, some feelings I had looking back on school, and the relationships I either had or avoided.
One thing I always see when I visit this class…
They are so small, so tight. This is a huge family. These kids have grown up together. They take care of each other. They are kind to one another. It melts my heart every time. And something I have drilled into my own children’s heads… “always be there for the underdog.”
There’s always someone who needs help. And these kids just all have each others back 🖤
Driving home I was thinking about what I just left. I felt like a crusty little layer of jade crumbled from my heart. What they don’t know is, I needed that too. I needed to be around them, to see them interact, to hear their questions, to listen to their stories. I needed to step back into that love. I needed to get that back home, small community feeling again. And I needed to have that talk with my inner child as I step into this new chapter of my life.
