One year ago today, my friends and I gathered in my living room while I sat on my computer working. They chatted amongst themselves as they waited for me to finish up so we could begin that evening’s festivities. I had spent the previous 4 months, sequestered in my house, working every waking hour in hopes that the vision I had would come to fruition. After weeks of working day after day, for countless caffeine filled hours, I hit publish. And my website was live. I had formulated recipes, made labels, a website, and an Etsy page all by myself.
But then I looked up to see the smiling faces of the women who stood by me, ensuring I wouldn’t fail. Who fed me, cleaned my house, helped me make batches, vetted every idea that I had, brainstormed new ideas with me, and we celebrated.
They say that behind every great man is a woman, but behind every great woman, there’s a gaggle of girlies making sure she’s getting to where she wants to go to.
The night I launched my business, we went out on the town, and I don’t have a single photo of us that night, but the screenshots I captured that day sum up the essence of who we are.
