There is conflicting data as to the percent of population who are allergic to gold often result in conflicting numbers. Even so, we know the following to be true:
* Individuals are allergic to gold are often also allergic to other metals such as nickel and cobalt.
* Because of this confluence, it may not be immediately apparent whether someone is having an allergic reaction to gold, or if it is present in combination with other metals, the other metals in the alloy.
* People who are allergic to gold are almost always knowledgeable about this allergy by the time they reach adulthood.
Because of this, it is prudent for electrologists to include questions about nickel AND gold allergies on the client intake form.

Hello everyone, I have an Electrolysis client that has pretty reactive skin. After her first treatment she some mild redness and swelling in the treatment area, nothing abnormal though. The redness went away by the next morning but the swelling lasted for about 3 days.

I have been using thermolysis only with Protec Isoblend probes. She has very coarse, stubborn hairs that have very large roots. I have adjusted the settings several times trying to drop it as low as possible because while still being effective. A small bit of lymphatic fluid comes up with each treatment for almost every hair unless I drop the settings to low to treat well.

Each hair removal seems to be leaving a small hole at the skin surface, no matter what I change. I even changed the probe to an insulated probe and worked with the settings again and still got the same results.

She is aware she has sensitive skin and doesn't mind the treatments or post treatment swelling, but I'm concerned about pitting. Do I dare try blend? Or could that be worse? Thanks in advance for the suggestions!
