Why Vibes?

It should be no surprise to those who know me that Vibes is a nod to the 80's quirky comedy starring the queen of unusual, Cyndi Lauper and oddball character actor, Jeff Goldblum. I'm not saying I love the film, but I do love quirk and it has plenty of that!

And because Healing Vibrations is a somewhat common name...

But mostly because everything in life is a vibration. It is within us. It is all around us. It is Everywhere!
That intuition of uneasiness deep in your gut or the beautiful, loving vibration of the sun. From your music preferences to the crystals you choose...or the crystals that choose YOU!

Negativity or imbalance of any kind can lower vibration. And it's when vibrations are lower that we're more susceptible to dis-ease within the body and mind. That's where I come in. Massage and energy work of any kind can help keep the body well-balanced and maintained. Many of us do it for our car with oil changes and maintenance and some of us do it for our bodies by working out regularly. Massage and Reiki are not luxuries. They are wonderful ways to maintain a healthy, balanced well-being. You only get one body. You cannot trade it in, as you would a car when it starts developing problems. I hope you appreciate your body and treat it well. It is your temple.

Massage and energy work like Reiki have so many benefits. It can help reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, improve circulation and mood, reduce pain and discomfort, help with headaches, addictions, imbalances and chakra blockages and promote healing. Reiki is also a practice that can help any living being, such as plant life and animals. So please consider that if you have a pet or plant that may need some help. With that said, I also feel massage, in many ways, is an artistic platform. It is unique to the individual therapist; in their technique, fluidity and depending on their individual vibration. Massage can be very artistic; like a dance.

That's where I come in. I became a Reiki practitioner and teacher to help heal myself following a major medical procedure. The decision to become a massage therapist followed shortly thereafter. I was inspired by a wonderful physical therapist named Colleen Sonderman who helped nurse me back to health following my surgery. She was a crucial part of my recovery and I am forever grateful. Now as a practitioner and therapist, I thank you for the opportunity to work with and help you feel better. Whatever the reason may be...big or small. It is important and I care. Not only do I love what I do, I feel priviledged for the opportunity.

So mix the thought of those 80's Vibes with me and you'll have a unique, therapeutic experience.
No craziness...just calm.
No zaniness, just zen.
No quirk...well, maybe a little, but mostly just quiet relaxation.
