Yesterday was a bittersweet day.
We loaded up the salon and left the place that has been our home for 10 years.
We are forever grateful for the time we spent at this location. We began here with the first owner and creator, Beth Williams Ostrowski. When she became a mom, I was approached and asked if I would like to purchase it! December 31, 2015 was the start of the next chapter for Hera. We grew and outgrew our space.
We are now moving on to our forever home.

Silhavy Road will be closed between Evans Avenue and LaPorte Avenue, beginning April 18 for work at the railroad crossing. The railroad expects to finish In 5 days and detours will be posted. Please use alternate routes and look forward to a smoother crossing In coming days.

Local Traffic Closure—Silhavy Rd./Evans Ave.

A local traffic closure took effect on September 13, 2021, in the area of Evans Ave. and Silhavy Rd. The closure is allowing for the improvement of the area, to include additional traffic lanes, a new signal, as well as updated curbs, drains and underground pipes. The improvements will take approximately one month to complete, with the closure scheduled to end on October 15, 2021. During this time, the traffic pattern will change, causing a need for alternate routes to be taken and necessary travel in the area to be done with caution.

The temporary patterns are as follows: Silhavy Rd. will only allow southbound traffic from the area of Baldwin Ct., through the intersection of Evans Ave., and south toward John Howell Dr., while there will be no traffic allowed in any direction to the east of Silhavy Rd. on Evans Ave., between the intersection and the State Road 49 overpass. Please note that westbound traffic on Evans Ave. from Silhavy Rd. will not be changed at this time.

Local businesses will remain open and have modified access during the project. Valparaiso Police are asking that all placed signage, detour patterns, and proper traffic etiquette be followed, to include refraining from using local parking lots as “traffic roadways.” Barricades have been placed to limit access and all traffic laws will be monitored in the area during construction. Thank you for your cooperation and safe driving as improvements take place. Please be safe and allow extra time to navigate around or safely through all areas under construction.
