💡 Nail Growth Fact: How Long Does It REALLY Take? 🤔

Ever wondered how long it takes for a toenail to grow from the matrix to the free edge? ⏳

Toenails grow at an average rate of 1.6mm per month, meaning a full regrowth can take 12–18 months! 😲 That’s why CONSISTENCY is key when treating nail concerns. There’s no overnight fix—just steady progress.

✨ Your nail issues took time to develop, so they’ll take time to improve. Stay committed to your treatment, and I’ll be here to celebrate every milestone with you! 🎉

Ouch! A Little Accident Can Go a Long Way 💔👣

One of my lovely elderly clients (92 years young!) had a little mishap—a can of goods fell on his toenail, causing it to bruise and lift. Ouch! 😣

Since the nail is lifted, I carefully cleaned out the dried blood underneath and trimmed it shorter to prevent any painful snagging or further injury. The best course of action? Protect the nail from further trauma, keep it clean with an antibacterial product, and let time do its thing. ⏳🦶

Over the next few months, the nail will either:
✅ Fall off naturally as a new, healthy nail grows in OR
✅ Heal but remain slightly lifted due to the trauma

I’ll continue monitoring it with my client to ensure it grows out safely. Nail injuries like this can be common, and the key is proper care and patience. ❤️

✨ The More You Know! ✨
This client came to me for a safe removal of her artificial nail enhancements. I got a surprise underneath.

That green stain? It’s called Pseudomonas.
The yellow one? Onycholysis.

ℹ️ Pseudomonas is a bacterial infection caused by trapped moisture, turning the nail green/yellowish—not fungus! But left untreated? It can get scary 🧟.

Why does this happen? 🤔
1️⃣ A nail enhancement lifted, creating an air pocket where water got trapped.
2️⃣ The natural nail separated from the nail bed, holding even more moisture.

What to do? 💡
👉 Remove the enhancement to let the natural nail exposed to oxygen—no covering it up!
👉 Use antibacterial soap 🧼 AND a topical product to kill the bacteria.
👉 Be patient—discoloration must fully clear to prevent it from returning.

ℹ️ Onycholysis is when the nail plate (hard part) lifts or separates from the nail bed (skin underneath).

Why does this happen? 🤔
1️⃣ Trauma, friction, or impact.
2️⃣ Heat spikes from curing gel under nail lamps.
3️⃣ Immune disorders or gut health issues.

In this case? The client wasn’t sure what caused it but came to me for a safe nail enhancement removal. 💅

What to do? 💡
👉 Trim the nail short to avoid catching or ripping it further.
👉 Use antibacterial soap 🧼 AND a topical product to kill bacteria.
👉 Be patient—reattachment takes time, and prevention is key!

What Are You Looking At? 🤔
🦶🏼 This client had a Matrixectomy, a surgical procedure to remove the toenail permanently, often done for chronic ingrown toenails. An acid-like medication destroys the nail matrix to stop regrowth.

🦶🏼 Why does the skin look like this?
Once healed, the skin puffs up to fill the space where the nail used to be—since no nail is there to press it down.

❓ Can it be fixed or reconstructed?
Unfortunately, no. Reconstruction requires some nail to adhere to. Without it, the product won’t stay on due to the skin’s natural oils.

💡 While nothing cosmetic or medical can change this, a soothing pedicure is still an option for relaxation!

Onycholysis is a common nail disorder where the nail separates from the nail bed, often caused by trauma (impact, friction), medications, or illnesses.

Is it bad?🤔
YES: If trauma continues or the nail is hit again, it can detach completely, causing pain, bleeding, and slow healing. This creates a “portal of entry” for bacteria, dirt, and moisture, leading to issues like green nail syndrome (Pseudomonas) or fungal infections (Onychomycosis). Most nail fungi start with onycholysis.
NO: If kept short, dry, and clean, it can be manageable. However, there are still risks.

Solution:✨
Healing is slow (9–12 months for toenails to regrow), so focus on keeping the nail dry, clean, and using products that promote growth and prevent infection. While reattachment isn’t guaranteed, it’s possible with proper care.

Product Recommendations:👌🏼
Toenail Tincture – Antibacterial with Avocado Oil and Panthenol (Vit B).
Dadi Oil – Restorative Avocado and Jojoba Oils.

These products, along with our Signature Wellness pedicures, have shown positive results.
