I’m super duper behind on posting, and my photo backlog is backlogging because I’m having writers block🫠

I never knew becoming a lash artist would require SO MUCH creative writing😑

I honestly don’t remember what colors or lashes I used, because of course I forgot to take a pic of my tray stack when I was done.

Nor do I remember the vibe we were going for.

I know that there’s some The Lash Ritual | Professional Color Lash Extensions wavy neon green in there, but that’s about all I got😅

So here’s the best I can do for a caption:

“Look at this cutesy super textured green and black lash set on my cutesy client who requested black and green💚🖤”

✌🏼💖

🕷️ WIDOW’S WING 💚💜

As a lash artist, cussing out a purple spiderweb, is not something I would have ever expected to do😅

I’ve been wanting to try the cult classic Halloween spiderweb lash technique for YEARS, but naturally, I couldn’t just do the traditional black version. I wanted to give it my own colorful spin🌈

Acid green and bright purple are practically a Halloween requirement, but my goal was to take those bold, playful colors and turn them into something a little more refined, polished, and wearable.

Instead of using flat, solid colors, I blended multiple shades of green and purple to create depth and dimension, transitioning from dark to bright.

I also layered shorter black wavy lashes along the base to create that soft, smoky definition I love so much.

I wanted all the fun of full-color lashes, but with a beautifully defined lash line.

And then came the spiderweb🕸️

Let me tell you, building a tiny purple spiderweb out of individual lash extensions tested every ounce of my patience🫠

It took WAY longer than I anticipated, and there may have been a few (okay, a LOT) of curse words along the way😂

But once that teeny tiny spider charm was hanging from the web, I knew it was worth every single one.

The finished look is exactly what I was hoping for. Sharp and elegant, but still playful and unmistakably Halloween.

Widow’s Wing is one of Halloween lash looks I designed this season, and I couldn’t be prouder of how this one turned out🕷️💜

Never thought I’d be taking creative direction from a slug, but here we are😂

This set was inspired by two of the ocean’s most fascinating little creatures: jellyfish🪼 and sea slugs🐌

Technically, it’s an asymmetrical set. But instead of making the two eyes obviously different, I wanted them to feel like they existed in the same underwater world.

So both eyes start with the same foundation: a seamless blue gradient through the lower lash layers, fading from lighter blue at the inner corner into deeper, darker blue toward the outer corner.

Think shallow tropical water slowly disappearing into the deep🌊

And because I’ve been wanting to really nail my color blending, I spent a LOT of time making sure you couldn’t see exactly where one blue ended and the next began.

Then, each eye got its own personality.

🐌 The left eye: Sea Slug

The blue gradient becomes its body, with a little extra light blue at the inner corner to represent the top of its head. Purple wavy spikes mimic those little eye-looking things, while blue and neon orange wavies along the outer half recreate its colorful, spiky back.

Do I know the proper anatomical names for any of these parts? Nope! But you get it😂

🪼 The right eye: Jellyfish

This eye is softer, floatier, and all about movement.

I scattered my new ombré wavy lashes from The Lash Ritual | Professional Color Lash Extensions throughout the top lash layer in different colors and lengths to mimic tentacles drifting and curling through the water.

Then I added Jessica Valentine Spyk to sharpen and define those squiggly pieces.

And that might be my favorite thing about this set…

From a distance, you see one cohesive wash of ocean blues.

But get close enough, and the details start telling two completely different stories.

One eye is colorful and spiky. The other is soft, floaty, and constantly in motion.

Two tiny ocean creatures, one shared underwater world, and a reminder that asymmetry doesn’t have to mean the set feels disconnected✨

Some things are just better left to the pros.

Brow lamination might be one of them😅

And before anyone comes for me, yes, I have her full permission to use her DIY brow disaster as a cautionary tale😂

The first two photos are what happened when she decided to try an at-home brow lamination.

She got distracted and left the solution on too long😱

And because brow lamination is a chemical process that changes the structure of the hair, “a little extra processing time” does not mean a little extra laminated.

Her brow hairs became overprocessed, crispy and squiggly.

Think: uncooked ramen noodles🍜

Then came the trimming✂️

She trimmed the tops of her brows to create a clean shape, but natural brow hairs have beautifully tapered ends. Once you cut those off, you’re left with blunt ends that can create an uneven top line and don’t always grow out nicely alongside the untouched hairs.

This is one reason I generally prefer to style the hairs into the shape I want instead of cutting the shape into the hairs.

And finally…the tint.

It was applied outside the natural outline of the brow and processed too dark, leaving a blocky shape with uneven staining on the skin.

Now swipe over to the professional lamination👀

Same person. Same brows. Months later, after the damaged hairs had completely grown out.

✅Smooth, flexible brow hairs.
✅A shape created through intentional placement and styling.
✅Soft, tapered ends left intact.
✅And tint carefully placed to enhance the brow instead of overpowering it.

Because the difference between an at-home kit and a professional brow lamination isn’t simply who applies the product.

It’s knowing how to assess the hair, how long to process it, when it’s ready, how to manipulate it into the right shape, and how to tint it cleanly.

Could you laminate your brows at home? Absolutely.

🚨Should you? Well…she gave me permission to show you these photos for a reason😂

“I don’t want people to be shocked when I walk in.”😅

Her exact words. And I honestly think that’s a perfect explanation of what “natural but noticeable” actually means.

She had never had lash extensions before, but after her makeup trial, she knew one thing: strip lashes were NOT going to be part of the wedding day plan.

They were annoying, uncomfy, and just not something she wanted to deal with on her big day.

So, she needed another option!

Her wedding makeup was a beautiful, super natural soft glam, and she didn’t want her lashes to compete with it or overpower her features.

She wanted enough lash to define her eyes and show up beautifully in photos, without everyone immediately thinking, “Oh! She got lashes!”

And for a blonde with those bright, clear blue eyes? I immediately thought dark chocolate brown instead of black. 🍫

I showed her a few examples of brown vs. black lash sets, and once she saw the difference, she was sold.

Then we talked style.

Because natural was the keyword, I narrowed it down to Classic or Wet Set. But I was leaning Wet Set for one very important reason:

These weren’t just everyday lashes. These were ✨wedding lashes✨

A Wet Set still gives that delicate, individual-lash look of Classics, but with a little more density, a little more styling power, and better longevity. Just enough extra oomph to hold its own in professional photos without suddenly turning her soft glam into GLAM glam.

And with professional makeup, happy tears, a long wedding day, and the events surrounding it, I wanted to give her a set that could handle a little shedding without leaving obvious gaps.

The final result was exactly what we were going for🤎

That deep chocolate brown gave her eyes plenty of definition, but kept everything soft and harmonious. And against those blue eyes? STUNNIN’!

But possibly my favorite part was what she said when we finished:

“I can’t even feel them.”🤗🤗🤗

No uncomfortable strip lashes. No dramatic lash transformation that didn’t feel like her. Just soft, chocolate-brown lashes that gave her a little something extra while still letting her be the first thing people noticed when she walked in🥹🤎

Meet the Goldilocks of lash extensions👧🏼🐻✨

Not too little. Not too much. Juuuust right.

A Wet Set sits in that sweet spot between Classic and Volume. Closed fans give you more density and definition than Classic, without the fluffy fullness of open-fan Volume.

But “just right” doesn’t have to mean boring.

For this set, I used longer lengths and stretched the shape into a cat eye, giving her that clean Wet Set definition with a little extra drama.

Perfect when Classic feels like not quite enough, but Volume feels like a little too much🤌

✨This is what dreams are made of✨

She had tickets to see Hilary Duff and one very important goal: fulfill every single one of her childhood Y2K dreams through her lashes💿💖✨

And then she did something no client has ever done before…

She sent ME the mood boards😂

Not one, but TWO. One for the overall Hilary/Y2K vibe and another for her concert outfit.

Usually I’m the one showing up with the mood board, so obviously I was thrilled.

She knew she wanted to keep a dark base because she loves the definition it gives her eyes, but this for Hilary. We were NAWT stopping at dark lashes.

So I pulled the color palette directly from her inspiration and built the whole set around it.

💜 A rich purple base to keep that depth and definition
🩷🧡❤️ Neon pink, orange and red sprinkled throughout
〰️ A wavy statement stripe using those same colors for a big graphic POP

I love that repeating the same pink, orange and red in two completely different textures makes the stripe feel like part of the set instead of something sitting on top of it.

And obviously, lash tinsel was mandatory✨

I added matte metallic pink anime tinsel for bigger flashes of shine, then tucked thin metallic red tinsel throughout for those tiny glimmers that catch the light when she moves.

The final look feels like someone took the Disney Channel, a Limited Too shopping spree, a Hilary Duff poster-covered bedroom wall and a little bit of concert lighting, and turned it all into a lash set.

THIS is what dreams are made of💖💿✨
