The information below was just posted by a Client:
“The Copay Assistance Fund. Google it. A lot of people are either denying themselves expensive medications that they need or taking out a second mortgage to pay for them. I know. We were nearly there. Then, after talking to—I counted—six different people through my insurance and a few others through my specialty pharmacy, the last transfer (who was actually the first person I dialed) dropped to a softer volume and asked, “Have you looked into The Assistance Fund?” I had no idea. And you or your loved ones may have no idea, either. A few clicks later, I qualified for enough support to get me through my out-of-pocket insurance requirements for 2 years, with the opportunity to renew. It didn’t take all the headaches out of billing, but it pays the bill, and that’s what matters. They cover certain illnesses that are expensive to treat. This is the result of lots of fund-raising, so what and how many applicants they can cover is limited to what is raised... but I didn’t apply until October and they were still able to help me. It’s worth a try!”

My training when I was a massage therapy student was to never massage an active cancer patient, or if the client had ever received radiation, chemotherapy, or lymph node removal. That was to be left to the Oncology Massage specialist. That student training is rarely followed... or forgotten by most.

Always inspiring to be able to hear Jane share her amazing story of See Jane Beat Cancer and showing the true hope for all. So thankful the Waco Y is promoting her valuable teachings and book. Sharing is just a natural part of what Jane and Paul do.
Dr. Paul Derrick and Mrs. Jane Derrick are both to be honored at a reception here in Waco tomorrow at the Cooper House to celebrate all they are. Congratulations, Jane and Paul.
On Tuesday, October 22, Paul Derrick and I presented about my cancer memoir, See Jane Beat Cancer, to the LIVESTRONG class at Waco Family Y. Although it was a small group, there was a good discussion afterward. The class is just getting started, but they will be reading copies of my book, which the Y has purchased. One of the participants said that meeting me, makes reading my book more meaningful. Many thanks to Carla Browning who leads the class and was responsible for the purchase of the books.

Jane and Paul Derrick moved from Waco to Colorado to be near family. Their influence and service to Waco was immeasurable.
I was honored to write the forward to her book chronicling her triumph over the most serious of breast cancers.
