Grateful for the Journey: From Salon Owner to Solo Stylist 🌟

As I embark on this new chapter, I can't help but reflect on the incredible journey that has brought me here. From being a salon owner with a wonderful team to now being a solo stylist in my own salon suite, the transition has been both challenging and heartwarming.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to all my clients who have stood by my side through this change with kind words and congratulations. Annndddd… this why extensions get a bad rep!

This sweet, sweet client reached out to me after moving to the area. She had gotten one row of weft extensions (unknown method) at a salon prior to moving, of which she was having so many issues with.

She contacted me to ask if I could fix her edges to get her through and then would book a re-install in another two weeks.

What I thought was going to an “easy” adjustment was really bordering on a disaster. Over direction and pulling of her natural hair 😣 improper weight distribution of the wefts 😣 and sloppy, sagging stitching 😓

I did what I could in the time I had set aside and we booked out for two weeks.

Well she didn’t make it that long without her center back (the area I didn’t adjust) starting to bother her.

THIS IS WHEN EXTENSIONS GET A BAD REP. This client could have easily given up on them. But thanks to my extensive training with I can help (on Wednesday 🤣)!

It’s easy to overlook the power of beauty, especially when you’re in the beauty industry. As a hairdresser, I often wonder if what I do is truly making a difference in my clients’ lives. Then I have a transformational moment with a client that reminds me of the impact beauty can have on someone’s life.

Beauty has the power to uplift, boost confidence, and make us feel good about ourselves. When we look our best, we tend to be more confident and open to taking risks or trying new things. For example, I had one client who told me she was finally ready to take a leap of faith and start her own business after she got her hair done. She said for months she had been thinking about it but she just didn’t feel confident enough in herself until she saw how beautiful she looked in the mirror after her appointment. It was the extra boost she needed to take the next step.

The opposite is also true – sometimes when we don’t feel our best, it can be hard to even leave the house, let alone talk with people or accomplish our goals. That’s why it’s so important for us as women (and men!) to take care of ourselves and invest in our appearance from time to time. Whether it’s getting your hair cut or taking some extra time each day for beauty rituals like skincare or makeup, dedicating part of your day towards self-care can do wonders for your mood and overall well-being.

Beauty really does have the power to change lives – both yours and those around you!
