It was so nice to compete in person again this year 🥰 I always feel like my senses are sharper during the prepping period; there are so many things to concentrate on at the same time.

This year I was competing in 6 in-person & 2 turn-in categories, and I was able to rank in two of them 🥳

2nd place in Acrylic Competition Nails, Division 3
2nd place in AI Nail Vision Poster, Division 3

Also, after we received the scoresheets, I discovered that I have three 4th places as well 🎉

October has been a really emotional month for me with a lots of reflecting. I really love doing themed nails and I was so excited last year to do a couple. It was just one tiny bit of a problem, I hadn’t had the clientele for it. Specifically, I’ve seen my first client in the middle of October last year. When I remembered this after I’ve created a couple of Halloween designs I got really excited about how a year can change things around 🙂 Can’t express how thrilled I am for all the Christmas & winter designs coming!

I swear I’m a different person when I’m applying color 😅 I have the angriest face when I’m concentrating, I don’t talk, I don’t breathe, and I’m almost positive that sometimes I hold my clients’ fingers a tad too steady (and I’m so sorry about this last one 🙈) All that being said, I’m very proud of the level of detail I’m achieving as a nail technician 💅🏻

Two weeks ago I’ve started a new chapter in my career and attended the NailPro Master Challenge in Sacramento, participating in two categories: one technical and one design. It was a new ground for me in terms of the style of the competition. We only needed to bring our tools and they provided the products and the models. I was excited because this was my first competition in 7 years and I knew that I would have issues with timing, so my only goal was to finish the nails in time - which I barely did - but what I pulled off under pressure was just unbelievable to me. I was so happy that I got second place in “Tip and Overlay” with acrylic, and knowing I can do better with proper practice gave me a boost for future competitions.
