❓FAQ: Why do I have to wait to swim after a wax? 🏖️

This is one of the questions we get asked the most, especially during pool and vacation season! ☀️

After your wax, your hair follicles are left open for a short period of time. Think of them like tiny pores that need a little time to calm down and close. Jumping into a pool, hot tub, lake, or the ocean too soon can introduce bacteria, chemicals, and other irritants into those follicles, increasing your chances of:
✨ Irritation and redness
✨ Folliculitis (small inflamed bumps)
✨ Ingrown hairs
✨ Infection

So how long should you wait?
💦 24 hours is the general recommendation before swimming in:
• Pools
• Hot tubs
• Lakes
• Oceans

If your skin tends to be extra sensitive, waiting a little longer is even better!

Giving your skin just one day to recover helps you get the smoothest results with fewer bumps and ingrown hairs.

Three years ago, I took a leap of faith and opened Just Peachy with one simple goal: to create a space where every client feels comfortable, confident, and genuinely cared for.

What I love most about this career isn’t just helping people feel their best, it’s the relationships that grow along the way. Some of my clients have become friends, and getting to celebrate life’s milestones, share conversations, and be a small part of your routines is something I’ll never take for granted.

When I’m not at the salon, I’m spending time with my husband and our three kids, cheering them on at their activities, or playing along side them and being big kids ourselves. When I’m alone, I enjoy going for walks and reading.

We recently celebrated our 3-year anniversary, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support of this community. Whether you’ve been with us since day one or you just found my page, thank you for being here. Your trust, kindness, referrals, and support mean more than you know.

Tomorrow starts my vacation! After a very busy spring sport season with my kids and wrapping up the school year, I am ready for a much needed break! Mia will be holding the fort down while I’m gone, and still has a few openings for next week! I did just extend my hours when I return to accomodate clients before the Fourth of July weekend. If you are needing a wax before the holiday weekend, please do not wait to book!
