Hello! I've seen a few of these posts in the past and I keep meaning to make one. One of my favorite things about owning my own business has been the ability to trade for other services and goods.

In the 7+ years, I've owned Roots and Tides, I've traded chiropractor visits, reiki sessions, photography sessions, healthy meal services (I might miss this one the most...Fiddleheads Cuisine), kitty sitting, help with my website, C*D products, and definitely lots of massage.

If anyone around me offers meal services...reach out!! Also I've been wanting a tattoo for awhile....I may have found an artist interested in trading but as usual my schedule is a little nuts. And if anyone feels like they can't afford a massage, please reach out; I'd be happy to barter. I love keeping things local and creating community.

It's been a minute, both since I've posted and a long minute with me as a massage therapist.

So, yes...aside from playing outside and loving summer, I am a certified massage therapist with over 800 hours of training. If you click on the highlight icon labeled certs you can see all of my certifications...

Anyways, despite my hours of training, want to hear my number one tip to get the massage YOU WANT?

Don't be shy. Many people have told me that I can be intuitive, but in reality, I'm listening to everything. Everything you say, as well as what you wrote on your intake form. Plus, I'm listening to your physical body and gathering information on the way you move.

That gets me about halfway. If you want a certain kind of music, ask.
Love hot stones or aromatherapy, tell me.
Do you prefer oil or something unscented because you have to go back to work. I have at least 4 different kinds of massage lubricants in each office.
Do you love extra time on your feet, your scalp?? I'm happy to accommodate AND all of the add-ons mentioned in this post are included in the price of your massage.

Two weeks into adult gymnastics...

I'm not "allowed" to do all my easy counterbalance shapes. Goal is strong hollow body, open shoulders, pointed toes.

I still see me cheating a bit, banana backing...but at least I now have a reason to get upside down weekly!!

Adult gymnastics is me getting back to my youth, but redeveloping my core strength and putting myself out of my comfort zone....

Never to old to learn. Never to old to play.

In the great words of JB, I'm growing older but not up.

We are just two weeks into our Community Farm Yoga series....and it has been amazing!

Each farm has its own unique story and activity to explore.

Coming up in a few weeks is Yoga and a Sheep to Skein demo at the .

Kristen and Tristan have been rescuing critters for the past few years, growing berries and selling eggs.

We'll be practicing in a shady meadow overlooking the 🐑🐏.

One of the greatest things about this whole series is that I'm often learning right alongside you.

I know lots of things happened over the weekend;
**Tay and Travis got married and donated lots of money.
** The country turned 250 years old. I should have known the US was a Cancer....
** My Dad turned 78.
** And technically I think Roots and Tides was incorporated in late June.... I always say the birthday business is the first week of July 2019.

Even my mom can't believe I'm still running my own show. Basically, I said it comes down to shear stubbornness.

Piece by piece; I'm creating a business that I love. It started 7 years ago with just a handful of clients I retained from my student massage days. Shout out to the clients who've stuck with me for all 7 years!!

Roots and Tides expanded in 2021 to a second location, which made getting all my laundry done way easier ;).

And slowly overtime, I've started making connections with local businesses so that I can teach all the things I love to teach. This year, I joined the elective staff , where I'm teaching kids yoga. I'm so excited about this addition and I can't wait to see where it leads me.

To celebrate quad packs are now on sale! This is the best way to save on your next massage! (See previous post for the details)

And I've created a summer wellness bingo card, where you can win free classes and a massage.
