Great before, during, and after pictures. Jennifer's long hair needed a lift and some spicing up with the color so Billy gave her ends a needed trim, a concave layer for fullness and flair, then added some chestnut highlights to enhance Jennifer's warmth. Billy always shows different ways to wear the new cut/style for convenience at home. The finished look today was glamorous curls! Thank you, Jennifer Russell for coming in today and for being such a beautiful model!
Thought of the Day:
When something worthwhile is not easy, in fact, hard to do, but is done anyway, it gives that something VALUE. The value makes it precious. Few people will push through the "TOUGH" to get to the REWARD!
Hebrews 13:15
Through Him, therefore, let us at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name.
Sometimes, when we are sad, worried, scared, or upset, the last thing on our mind is to praise God. However, doing it anyway is that worthwhile action that puts faith into action. It says, "I know You've got this, Lord! I can praise You in advance because I know You've got this!" In doing so, we get the Joy of the Lord, which makes us strong, not weak!
Nehemiah 8:10
"...Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!”
Have a BLESSED day, everyone!
Gate.
By description, it's a hinged barrier used to close an opening in a wall, fence, or hedge.
In essence, a gate can allow or deny access/entry/exit. It acts as a protection monitor as to it qualifiers.
You have personal gates that were put into place, strategically by God, to aid in protecting us. We get to choose what qualifies. What we choose has a great effect on the rest of us; mind, body, & soul.
There are physical gates as well, doors, windows, TV, radio, ... Again, we get to choose where we go, who we let in, what we allow in off of our TVs or music players.
So, monitor your eye, ear, and mouth gates! Remember that our minds hold onto information and the body responds to it. Words (spoken or heard) have life and can breed life or death. We are all precious! Guard yourself and be edifying toward others!
Proverbs 4:20 - 27
20 My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. 21 Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; 22 for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body. 23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. 24 Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. 26 Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. 27 Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil”

Tip:
Always shampoo twice! The first shampoo absorbs most of the oil, dirt, and products. The second shampoo gives a nice finishing touch to your "clean"!
Remember, if you are using a professional shampoo (and you should be), then it is concentrated and you do not need as much. The first application might not lather much, but it is working and you'll see much more lather in your second application. This will save you money and will prevent product waste.
Thought of the Day:
Remember, when things happen in an ordinary, make sense way, then it can easily be explained and the credit easily taken by whomever. However, when we call on the Lord, often He works unconventionally so we know it was only He who helped us and we can glorify Him by praising Him and giving testimony to encourage others! (i.e. water from a rock, part the Red Sea with dry land in between, etc.)
So, when you have exhausted YOUR means and you cry out to the Father for help, don't decide how and when. Just let go and let God and try to shift your thinking to that of "joy", because the creator/owner of EVERYTHING is personally handling your request!
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
James 2:22
You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.
Have a blessed day, everyone!

Did you know that.....
We should look at the seasons when we wonder what to do next with our hair? "Contrast" is a good thing. It dimensionalizes and keeps us from looking boring. The sun is out and proud during summer, giving most of us more color in our skin and lightening up our hair. So, we CAN go lighter in the summer, BECAUSE we have more color in our skin, causing contrast! So, Summer is the time to add some dramatic or natural highlights (maybe a few low-lights mixed in for more contrast).
A must have product is REDKEN's Extreme CAT Treatment. This strengthening hair treatment spray boosts hair's shine and softness. It brings protein to hair's core, restoring internal strength and shine. (Pictured below)
Soon we will be transitioning into Fall when the air is cooler and the sun isn't so intense. Our skin is returning to a lighter tone, and we will need darker hair to enhance our lighter skin. Rich, warm tones (chestnut, auburn, chocolate, walnut....), even if it's just low-lights and not an "all-over" color.
A FANTASTIC way to transition from Summer to Fall, is with a Shades EQ Conditioning color gloss! Shades is a translucent color (which means it won't totally hide the hair-color it's wrapped around) which slicks down the cuticle (adding strength and shine) and gives an option of another color while adding gloss and shine of its own. (Like taking colored cellophane and wrapping it around each hair!) Shades come in clear too in case shine is the only thing needed.

Thought of the Day:
Anything worth doing is worth doing well. Better yet, it's worth doing the BEST YOU CAN! Your fingerprints, name, reputation, (you get what I mean) are always on what you put your hand to. It REPRESENTS you! Also, it is a seed you will reap! So even when no one is watching (...so you think), do as you would have done! That's the best guarantee, all around, for everyone!
Colossians 3:23-24
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”
Thought for the day:
Got anger?
Its alright to get angry! After all, you shouldn't like it when others hurt or abuse you or those you love, for example.
However, it's all about HOW you respond/react. Be wise and slow yourself down. Be edifying even while correcting, even if the person doesn't respond back well. In this case, less is more and if they have a conscience, they'll ponder things and who knows? If you explode, you shut them down, put THEM on the defense, and hurt your character/witness.
James 1:19
Everyone should be quick to listen and slow to speak and slow to become angry.
Ephesians 4:26
Don't sin by letting anger control you. Don't let the sun go down while you're still angry.
Thought for the day:
WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE!!!!!! ..and yet, what a gentle, attentive, loving and caring father, He is!
Hair product tip:
When applying conditioner to clean hair, grab longer hair as if you are putting it in a ponytail, and apply from hand down to ends. Lightly touch the hair on top of the scalp with the remaining little bit still on your hands (do not rub it on the scalp). This will help your hair stay off the scalp after its dry, keeping hair looking clean, longer.
Did you know that…
Shampoos are mostly alkaline, which means they “swell” and “soften” the hair so dirt can be easily and thoroughly removed? This causes the cuticle on the hair (shingle like/roof-like over-lapping outer layer of hair) to be more ”up” after a shampoo, making the hairs stick to one another, creating tangles or volume, and can increase dryness.
Conditioners are mostly acidic, which means they shrink and harden the cuticle layer back to a normal state so hair is smooth, shiny, and easier to untangle. This would also lend protection as it puts moisture under the closing cuticle and then “shuts the door” (closes/hardens the cuticle) over the moisture.
