If you grew up with a pool like I did, and also had naturally blonde hair, you might have experienced green hair every summer (I know I did🙋🏼‍♀️)

Hair turning green is caused by a combination of the copper and chlorine found in pools. When the two meet, the chlorine oxidizes the cooper and creates a film that sticks to your hair 😬

My favorite way to combat this is super easy! here’s how:
1. before getting in the pool, wet your hair really well.
2. Apply a conditioner/leave in conditioner.
3. If you are able to, braid hair tight.
4. Wash your hair immediately after getting out of the pool and condition well!
Doing these simple things help create a buffer between your hair and the pool water and make it harder for your hair to absorb the water!
