AIt's almost time for the camp !

Yesterday the group Harmony Singles hosted their 1st Annual International Women's Month events.
The theme: Women Together Impacting Our Communities. I thank God that I was blessed to be chosen as one of their honorees along with their past honoree Mrs. Josephine Riley Matthews who we all know was one amazing woman in the CSRA.
I again thank the group for their pursuit to promote and up lift women in our community. I also would like to thank Ms.Evangeline Muldrow and her amazing group of ladies for agreeing on the suggesting that I be one of their honorees. Thank you Samuretta Muldrow for suggesting me. I would like to thank my daughter and cousin who was also my special guest and Cynthia Kenner who I was glad to see there. I thank God for blessing me with the heart for His people and I pray that I am always able to do what I can for my community and my God. Wish my 3❤️❤️❤️ were their on yesterday with me.

Good morning don't forget my meet and greet on March 10th between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Courtney Senior Center. I look forward to seeing you there.

My name is Nytia Kitchings, and I am a proud resident of Wagener, South Carolina where I was born and raised. I graduated from Wagener-Salley High School and later pursued a career in cosmetology. Through business, licensing and instructing - I established “Uneven Endz Hair Studio.” My passion for styling hair connects me to so many people within the community.

I have one beautiful daughter who participates in various activities within the school and community as well as Aiken County’s Gifted and Talented Program for Artist Youth. Because of my love for my daughter and desire to help her discover her purpose and path in life, I started programs to aid and enlighten other girls/young women. Through “Girls in Grace” [a spiritual based youth organization that helps develop life skills for young girls], and “Women on the Move” [an organization to encourage positive power and instill self-control] – I invest time and impart wisdom into individuals… so character is developed, values are discovered, confidence is strengthened, and success is set in motion. Young ladies are encouraged to focus on themselves and in turn ‘pay it forward.’ I lead by example as my organizations sponsor, prepare, and deliver dinners to senior citizens and families with sick or shut-in individuals.

In addition to organizations personally [God inspired] established, I volunteer with “ACTS – Area Churches Together Serving” - our local area food distribution held at the Wagener Fire Department. I am also an active member of “CTFK - Churches Together for Kids” and the A.L. Corbett Middle School “Student Improvement Council” – which advocate for the well-being of the students in our community and provide resources for families.

I am currently an Aiken County Public Schools employee where I provide extra support for students and assist teachers’ needs in the classroom during the school day, and in addition, give academic assistance to students during the afterschool program. I plan to further my career in education by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree. With increased knowledge in leadership, problem-solving, business, and communication from obtaining this degree – I will continue working with young people in our community and develop programs to fit their needs.

Character, integrity, and active involvement in the community are key components when running for any leadership position. I do believe I possess these qualities and promote positivity when actively listening to the concerns of community members. By doing so, I can be a transparent leader who is open to and productive in accomplishing Wagener’s goals and supportive with overcoming any challenges.
