We have alot to unpack with this transformation so let’s get into it
Our goal 👉🏻 grey blending
Our starting canvas 👉🏻 warm blonde with 5 different levels throughout with permanent color living below the crown area

✨the process✨

👉🏻 I started with baby lighting everything, picking out all the bright blonde pieces
👉🏻 I alternated developers, 10 volume on the lighter pieces and 20 volume on the darker pieces where the permanent color was residing.
👉🏻 Lowlighting everything that was left out to even out all the tones so it was 1 solid color.
👉🏻 to blend her grays we needed her blonde at a solid clean level 10, but with that permanent color we unfortunately couldn’t get her there in this session. We had to tone the blonde to match the lowest level of lift, and in this case she was between a level 8/9

About 8 hours of endless laughs, good vibes, and foiling my back out on the MOST hair I’ve ever put my hands on we got this stunning EVEN blonde, and MAN this client was a trooper. We got her to a great start on getting those greys blended. 🥰

Let’s talk about the importance of test strands.
This client came in today wanting a change, she wanted to add more lightness and dimension, we went over her hair history and immediately knew I wanted to do a test strand (I usually do one regardless of hair history for new clients because everyone’s hair reacts differently to lightener) we did 2 different test strands, one underneath her layers, and one on the top. The first one in the nape of the hair sat in a foil for about 15 minutes and the ends started to get stretchy, whereas the top foil also sat for 15 minutes and got completely gummy. Had I not done the test strand she would have lost a good majority of her hair. So we settled for a good healthy chop and a glaze to give her a change, WITHOUT compromising her hair 🥰 take this as your reminder to ALWAYS take the extra time to do a test strand.
