Perimenopause can show up in ways many women don’t expect.

In this episode, Dr. Cat and our guest expert, Dr. Hahn, talk about some of the lesser-known symptoms women may experience during perimenopause. Hormonal shifts can affect the body in surprising ways — from sudden sensitivity to smells to unexpected itchiness and frustrating moments of brain fog, like struggling to find the right words.

The doctors also answer questions from the community about heart palpitations and other symptoms women have experienced during this transition.

Still floating on a dream cloud with this—I was named a finalist for Indy’s Best & Brightest through Junior Achievement of Central Indiana! 🩵

This award highlights 100 of Central Indiana’s young professionals who are building, leading, and making an impact in their industries. To be included in that group? So wild. So inspiring.

Building a business focused on women’s health — and helping women feel heard, educated, and supported — is something I don’t take lightly. The fact that this work is being recognized makes it even sweeter.

Indy, you’re pretty special, and I’m so proud to be building a life and career here. 🫶🏼

Feeling like a legit Queen today and had to share—PASSED my Obesity Medicine Boards, officially a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine! 👩🏻‍⚕️❤️

Obesity isn’t about willpower. It’s biology, environment, hormones, metabolism, social determinants, and so much more. And patients deserve care that recognizes the science, honors their lived experience, and moves beyond stigma to real, compassionate, research-driven treatment.

This milestone isn’t just a credential to me—it’s a commitment to bringing whole-person, evidence-based obesity medicine to every patient who trusts me with their health. Stepping into this next chapter with my crown a little heavier and my purpose a lot clearer. 👑✨

A reminder to all my colleagues in medicine: you can chase your passions, evolve your practice, and redefine your path at any stage. Here’s to showing up, leveling up, and lifting up every person who deserves evidence-based, stigma-free care. 💪🏼

✨ Feeling deeply honored to be named one of Indianapolis Monthly’s Top Doctors 2025! ✨

What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that this nomination is based on votes from fellow local physicians as well as evaluation of professional qualifications. To be acknowledged by colleagues I respect so much is truly humbling.

Building a practice grounded in education, empowerment, and compassionate care has been one of the most rewarding journeys—and to receive this recognition along the way means so much.

I’m endlessly grateful for the incredible patients who trust me with their care and for the colleagues and mentors who continue to inspire and support this work every day. 🫶🏼

October is a powerful month for women’s health 🫶🏼

It’s both ✨Menopause Awareness Month✨ and 💗Breast Cancer Awareness Month💗 — two chapters of women’s health that often overlap but deserve their own attention and care.

As we move through midlife, our bodies change — hormonally, physically, and emotionally. Understanding these changes is key to making empowered decisions about our health.

This month is a reminder to:
🌸 Schedule your breast screening or imaging
🌿 Learn about your menopause journey and symptoms
💬 Seek care from a Certified Menopause Practitioner who can guide you with evidence-based information and compassion

Education and awareness save lives — and empower women to live fully, vibrantly, and without fear.

Let’s continue the conversation, support one another, and celebrate taking charge of our health. 💪

Pain with s3x: It’s not a normal or acceptable part of life or aging, and yet I repeatedly hear this from my patients on a regular basis. What’s more, some women wonder what they can do to prevent PAIN and have never even given PLEASURE a bit of brain space. 🤯🫶🏼

But many practitioners are not trained well in diagnosing or comfortable in discussing pain with s3x or “dyspareunia.” So they don’t ask. And patients don’t bring it up. And the cycle continues.

Real improvement and potential resolution is time-intensive and a multi-disciplinary team effort. 🤝🏼 And it starts with asking the questions that will help us get to the root causes, develop a thorough treatment plan, and improve the quality of life for our patients.

☑️ Ask even when you stumble over the words.

☑️ Ask even if you’re not sure you can help.

☑️ Ask even if you are positive it’s not an issue. Be surprised.

☑️ ASK.

Had the most wonderful time sharing knowledge and answering questions at today’s Alloy webinar! We broke down obesity medicine, nutrition, GLP1s, and the biology of midlife for women - spoiler, it’s a STRUGGLE! 🤪

This is what I went into medicine for. To educate, share knowledge and wisdom, and also learn from patients. That’s right, I learn from you and your lived experience! There were some TOUGH questions to answer, you all came prepared and I loved it. 🫶🏼 So grateful for this community and for Alloy for continuing to be the voice we need on this menopause journey. 💪🏼

In collaboration with Hormonally.org, the creators of the 💜Vulva Map💜:

4 out of 5 women say they’ve felt unheard by a healthcare provider, but a statistic doesn’t tell the whole story.

We want to understand what feeling unheard actually looks like, so that we can be specific about the kind of change that needs to happen.

If you’ve ever left a healthcare appointment feeling frustrated, or if you’ve had a great experience and want others to feel the same, we want to hear from you.

This survey takes just 4 minutes to complete.

Your answers will help Hormonally.org, a non-profit organization, create the educational tools that push for change in the healthcare system.

Follow the link in their bio and please share the survey with others when you’re done!

Thank you for speaking up; your voice matters.
