On this chilly February Monday in Pittsburgh, I can’t help but reflect on the past 3.5 years and the journey of the Skinhouse by Angela Rae. I’m so grateful for everything, but let’s be real—life isn’t always as perfect as those cute Instagram posts make it look. These past years has taught me a lot as an esthetician, business owner, and wife. It’s been a mix of long and short days, with some amazing highs and some tough lows.

I wanted to share a few thoughts for anyone who might care. Life doesn’t always go the way you want it to, but it’s all about how you handle it. The biggest lessons I have learned came during the rough patches, not the good times. It’s a bit cliché, but you really are only as good as the people you surround yourself with. Choose your friends wisely, treat them right, and don’t hesitate to step away from those who don’t lift you up, no matter how important you think they are to you or your business.

A lot of people need to hear this: money doesn’t bring happiness or peace. What really matters is kindness, sincerity, and being real. Find inspiration in everything and live with passion. It’s way easier to bounce back from challenges when you’ve got a positive crew behind you.

To my amazing clients, you guys are some of the best people I know. You’ve made The Skinhouse feel like a true “Skinhome” with all your kindness and self-love. I’m super proud to be on this skin journey with each of you! 🫶🏻
