I have not been posting here but I’m still doing hair and loving every minute of it. 😬🫶🏽

Today was a great day catching up on life with Tricia and giving her reset before vacation.

I gotta say, it’s such a satisfying experience to see how my work grows out IRL. Just 3 days shy of 2 years since the last time I touched her hair. She was so ready for a change. We love how her hair turned out!

Scroll to see the journey from where we ended up to where we started with a flashback to how her hair turned out 2 years ago.

Kristin was ready for a change and she got it.

She gave me some pretty loose parameters, just short and not “mousy brown.”

Today was a good day.

Jenn has been growing out her grey for a couple of years now but felt like she needed some dimension in the grey part, so I brought some of that color from the ends and gave her a highlight/lowlight situation.

We’re both super happy with how this turned out even tho one of my formulas didn’t go as light as I was anticipating. I’m excited for the next go-round in a few months and we get to see how it grew out.

As a fellow healthcare worker, it was probably one of the funnest appointments for me and just further solidifies my decision to continue to do hair outside of clinic life.

Thank you for trusting me with your hair, Jenn! Can’t wait til next time! 🙏🏽🫶🏽

Week 2 of Medical Assisting in the books and I couldn't be more satisfied with how it's going. One more week of training and I'll be back at my home clinic, ready to settle in and create routines, and finally be in a position to finally get to know my coworkers.

I'm going to miss the girls I'm working with now that are teaching what I need to know to do my job effectively. And they've been so super friendly and welcoming! They've really made me feel so comfortable with being there and feeling like I fit right in. I'll definitely miss them all and I'm really looking forward to my shorter driving to work in the mornings. I love being downtown honestly, and it's been fun driving into town in the mornings, but it's a longer drive than Highlands Ranch both to and from. Plus more traffic coming home from downtown.

But really, I've really been enjoying getting to know the people the most. The patients have been wonderful and also really encouraging. I'm really looking forward to being the one that can give our patients in HR that space of that they are in the right hands, getting to know and caring for them. I'm really looking forward to that part the most.

And really, everything I've gone thru from when I graduated MA school until now has properly prepared me for what I'm embarking now, from working at BB&B and working my way up to Supervisor and transferring to 2 other stores throughout my time at the company to going to hair school and getting my first job at a salon as a receptionist, then moving thru an apprenticeship to a full-fledged stylist behind the chair, building relationships with clients, and then all the way to now where I've been solo business owner for 3 years and still going strong, just turning it more into a passion project and a way I can express my hands-on, artistic side, the way I've always really wanted it to be.

I'm really just excited to see where I am in life in the future, a year from now and even just the next few months alone. It's the excitement about the future that really does it for me.

Now for a weekend of doing hair for and with some beautiful people. 🥲🫶🏽 But not before an evening just to chill.

It’s fall, yall! 🌞🍁

Fresh cut, highlights, and added some peekaboo pink tips on my little-sister-from-another-mister. 💆🏼‍♀️✂️

Then we had lunch on an outdoor patio with a DJ and the best weather before she headed back home to the Springs. Always a delight to spend some one-on-one time with her.

Thanks for coming to see me! 🤗🫂

I don’t know how many people know this about me, but before I went to cosmetology school, I went to an Emily Griffith Technical College for Medical Assisting.

Well, I’m so excited to announce that, after 11.5 years, I’m finally heading into the field! I’ve accepted a position at a Primary Health clinic and I start October 14th!

I will still be taking appointments on the weekends at Á la Maison for the foreseeable future and will be getting the space ready to sublease Monday thru Friday starting in November.

To all my friends, family, and clients who have supported me so far, thank you from my whole heart for everything. From sitting in my chair and following me throughout my career, to sending words of encouragement and good vibes from all over, thank you thank you thank you. I made it 3 whole years as a solo hairstylist and I’ve learned and grown so much. I’ve loved every second, even when things were rough sometimes. I wouldn’t be who I am without all of it.

Appointments still available during the week these next two weeks and weekends are open for your convenience. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Here’s to new adventures! 🙏🏽🫶🏽🙌🏽
