a very vulnerable post for me, but i decided to share it in hopes of bringing some light to newer artists and reminding them that running a business isn’t always butterflies and rainbows.

these past 6 months have been the hardest i’ve experienced in the 8 years i’ve been in this industry. some days are harder than others, but if there’s one thing this season has taught me, it’s that i was made for this job.

i remember two days after he passed, it was christmas eve, and i had over 15 girls i needed to reschedule. i decided i was going to work anyway, and my clients thought i was crazy. i cried while getting ready that morning, cried the entire drive to work, and for a moment, i truly didn’t think i was going to make it through the day.

but the moment i stepped into my studio, i knew that’s exactly where i needed to be. my mind finally quieted, and i felt calmer than i had all morning. lashing is my safe place, and the relationships i’ve built with my clients have played such a huge role in my healing.
