Purple shampoo can be a blonde’s best friend… when it’s used correctly 💜

But here’s the biggest misconception:
Purple shampoo is NOT the same as a toner or gloss.

It’s simply a pigmented shampoo designed to help minimize some brassiness in between salon appointments. Think of it as maintenance for your blonde, not a replacement for your salon toning services.

Here’s how we recommend using it:

• Wait about 2 weeks after your appointment before introducing it
• Start by using it once every couple of washes
• Gradually increase usage closer to your next appointment if needed
• If you wash frequently, avoid using it more than 2x per week

And always remember:
Purple shampoo should be your SECOND cleanse, not your first.

Start with your regular shampoo to properly cleanse the scalp and remove buildup, then follow with purple shampoo focusing mainly on the blonde areas.

A little goes a long way. Overusing purple shampoo can leave the hair looking dull, muddy, overly ashy, or even slightly lavender on very light blondes and extensions.

If that happens, don’t panic. Since it’s just depositing pigment onto the hair, a clarifying wash can usually help pull some of that excess tone back out and brighten things up again!
