This is not my work but this hits home since I had one of my first clients to complain last week about her 2 month old ktips… since doing them for 5 yrs and building up a bigger clientele for them this last yr, this was the first time someone under my care had improper home maintenance, and with ktips, all there really is is HOME maintenance. I am very clear with the instructions, I also send Home an instruction card. But with any profession, the consumer only knows as much as they know, and it is our responsibility to educate further. So just like many other things, I’ve learned that now I need to be even more forceful because of one person out of a couple handfuls…
Are these type of extensions for everyone? Absolutely not but they can be for every single hair type. Previous damage from Color and environment can also play a role in how long these last and how much maintenance you need to put into them. These are a very luxury type of extension because of the time spent from custom making them to install installing and the physical labor of removing. The hair can be reused a couple times with a loss of an inch every time we reinstall. Some will be extremely tiny, only holding onto 3 to 5 hairs and that’s normally around the hairline and closer to the top of the part. Those can definitely slide out or fall out within a couple months as natural fall out happens along with mild slippage. I always tell my clients to save any rogue pieces and we can instal them back in anytime with in the first couple months… these will last around 4 months without coming into the salon for any type of maintenance.. but at home, the client will BRUSH a couple times a day.. oil and use professional products including heat protectant every time you use any type of hot tool. I can definitely tell when my clients do not use heat protectant or have their irons up too high. Along with toppers and extensions being bought you will also need to invest in professional CORRECT product in order to keep the extensions for the longest possible life Span. Regular TRIMS/DUSTINGS are also a great idea as the hair is 100% human hair so will get split ends due to many reasons.. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO is pulling the ktips apart daily at the base. Science tells us that when little strings grow out next to each other and are loose, they will have a tendency to tangle and start twisting (dreading) together. So pulling apart and making sure non, especially around the crown area and the side you sleep on the most, are together and all are separated! You also cannot put any heat on the top part of the extension where the bond is. This is something that I personally thought was common sense since I use heat to melt the bond into the Hair, but heat will melt those bonds and then it will stick to all sorts of types of hair around (new growth, natural fall out, other extension hair) and you will create a Matted mess. Along with night protection like a bonnet, your extensions should last a good 3-5 months
Other than that you can style, wash, and wear just like normally hair! If you have any questions message me and if you want to book an extensions go thru this link below!
Also don’t play mermaids with this beautiful hair 😘

3 things that can make or break a topper installation:
1️⃣ Mesh selection
2️⃣ Proper bead sizing
3️⃣ Custom darts sewn into the mesh to create a true-to-head fit
Because heads aren’t flat… they’re curved, unique, and require customization for the most natural result possible.
The details matter. And those details are often what separate a good install from a great one. ✨

This is by far my favorite transformation! I have 4 this week too 🤯 I’m so grateful to be able to change peoples lives the way I have been able to. This is what I envisioned, I just didn’t know exactly how I was going to get to the “meaningful” side of hair until I started working with hair toppers and even extensions. It’s an investment but it’s also an investment of yourself.
I’m here if you would like to ask any questions or if you want to book a consultation you can book using the link in my bio.
Shoot me a message and request a private consultation if you would like only my eyes seeing your hair while we take this journey.
Don’t take the clips off just yet. Even if you don’t color you will need to clarify your topper. The easiest way for me to get a good blowout is to clip it on me and blow. This one has just solidified my decision to go darker with my own hair
