That shiny shine and the most natural blonde blend

A little bit of shine spray, and that’s all! She wanted a rounder shape on the bottom and some shorter layers for more texture without compromising the thickness of her hair so I used a slide cutting technique on every single piece.

Q: How can I keep my color from fading quickly or being flat, dull, frizzy, dry, etc?

A: Check the PH of your products. The PH of your hair products plays a *huge* role in how your hair looks and feels. Hair, skin and nails all have a PH of between 4.5 and 5.5, so that’s right where you want your hair products to be. Most drugstore brand hair products, and even some salon products, are not PH balanced because it takes a lot longer to go through that process. A lot of drugstore products tend to be on the higher, or alkaine side–which blows the hair’s cuticle wide open instead of closing it down. This can cause the frizziness, dry hair, scalp flakiness, and color fading, among other things.
Products on the lower side of the PH scale are going to close the cuticle down and smooth everything out, keeping the frizz to a minimum and locking your color in–as well as keep your scalp healthy and hydrated.

There are certain times products with a higher pH are helpful, for example volumizing products, but I absolutely guarantee you you’ll see a major difference in your hair and scalp when you know what you’re putting on your head–AND when it’s a healthy PH.

My next post is all about the BIGGEST secret I have about healthy hair! No joke though...I don’t believe in selling products just to sell them. You should be able to ask your stylist what’s in the products they’re recommending to you, and how it does what they say it does. Not all products sold in salons are better than drugstore products...I’ll explain in the next post!

It took us a while to get through the 4 layers of B O X D Y E but here we are with a gorgeous sandy blonde that feels as strong and healthy as ever.

I’ll use a purple shampoo on dry hair and let it sit for several minutes before rinsing and it seriously has the effects of a toner 💜

I have an announcement!

I would like to let all of you know that sadly, my last day working at the Hair & Nail Gallery will be February 23rd.

Taking over for me will be Laurie Vieira, a beautiful, talented stylist with 30 years of experience! I am confident that Laurie will do an excellent job taking my place as your stylist, and we would all be ecstatic if you would continue to call the Hair & Nail Gallery your salon!

It has been my absolute pleasure serving all of you and getting to know you better from behind the chair, and I’ll miss every single one of you.

Baby I’ll make a blonde out of you ✨
I like to style my clients’ hair the way they wear it every day. Sometimes my cuts need a few tweaks to fall just right and my guest might not notice until the next time they go home and do it themselves.

I know there’s something to be said for that salon blowout and curls 😍 but I want to make sure when my clients go home and do it the way they do it, I already know how it’s going to look and act so they don’t have to fight with their hair! @ Hair & Nail Gallery By Darlene Guzzo
