The Edge Barbershop and Salon

I will be closing my shop at the end of December. Covid has taken its toll on my business and the inability to perform my skill due to surgery that made things worse instead of better. It saddens me deeply to have to take this action as I have been a Barber for 36 years and I truly love my work and my interaction with people of which I've known most of my clientele for 20 +years or more.
I am offering to do some house calls for those of you who will trust and allow me to do so. You can reach me at 336-239-3558.

God has a plan and my faith lies in him to see me through.

Almost thru the first week post op.
It's been a rough week but I'm thankful for the friends and family who have helped me thru it.
Thank you all for the calls and text too.
I got the drain tube out yesterday. That was a big relief. I go back Friday to get one more stitch out. The rest are inside.
My throat is feeling better so it's a little easier to eat.
The pain is bearable so I'm sleeping a little better.
Now if I can get these hot flashes under control from being off my estrogen then I'll be happy.... about every 20 mins is too much with this insulated neck brace on. UGH!!
It could be worse so I retract that last part, lol.
Looking forward to being back behind the chair.
Thanks again everyone for the prayers and well wishes. I know that's the biggest part of everything going smoothly.

I am having surgery on my neck in the morning to remove and replace 3 disc .
4-5 5-6 6-7.
They will be replaced with cadaver bones and a plate. I will be away from the shop 6-8 weeks at least. As most of you know, Melanie Green is at the shop helping out.
I trust Dr Roy but I'm still scared to death. Im asking for prayers and good vibes from any and all who are willing.

Cervical spine surgery is set for March 5th at Rowan hospitol with Dr Roy.
He will be removing 3 vertebra and placing 3 cadaver bones and a plate in its place. I will likely have a drain tube and only 1 day in the hospitol is expected. Then 6-8 weeks in a hard collar and hopefully I'll be good to go.
Prayers are needed and appreciated.

I am happy to say that I am finally home from the hospitol today and I look forward to being behind the chair again soon.
Thank you Melanie Greene for helping me keep things going at the shop while I've been out sick. I appreciate you immensely.
I still have to regain some strength and be assured that I'm not still contagious and I look forward to seeing everyone again really soon.
Thank you for your prayers and support through this difficult time.

Update: it's been determined that I have viral pneumonia which doesn't respond to antibiotics and RSV which is contagious and also not treated with antibiotics.
Both should go away on its own. It's just gonna take longer than I was expecting. Oxygen levels are still low and that's the major hold up for me. I'll keep you posted and thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers. ❤

Boy this upper restpitory mess ain't no joke!! Been sick since new years eve, in the hospitol since Thursday with pneumonia and asthma related issues. Can't get oxygen above 91. Im not sure when I'll be out of here or better but I'm doing all I can.
