When I worked at Ulta three years ago, this product came out and when I seen women coming back for the second round of purchase, I asked them personally. What did they like about it? They absolutely loved it because it left no cast no Halo no white. I also noticed they came out with a line for men now I don’t know how the men differ from the black girl sunscreen. Maybe the fragrance is different. But for all my women of color tired of having a white cast. It’s just as important for you to protect your skin from the sun, and I totally recommend the black girl sunscreen!

Hello Skin Loving friend! It’s that time of the year and I guess I need to talk about this once again. It always seems to happen as soon as the weather gets warm, everybody jumps outside and inadvertently makes the mistake of not putting on or not putting on enough SPF. And then they’re totally surprised when they have full-blown sunburn.
“It wasn’t that hot out. I didn’t think I could get sunburn?” The sun doesn’t care what time of the year it is you still can get burnt.
So I’m not here to talk about sunscreen…
We’re going to talk about clients who get sunburn and then show up for a facial.
Facials are not recommended, and in fact, they can cause more damage to a sunburnt, inflamed, raw, highly sensitive skin while it’s healing from sunburn! It frustrates aestheticians because your skin is trying to heal and you’re coming in for exfoliation, extractions, treatment masks, manipulative, massage on the face… All of this can be very irritating and or damaging to the skin while it’s trying to heal from sunburn.
If you have a facial appointment within 5 to 7 days of having sunburn, call and reschedule your appointment until it’s fully healed! There is really nothing an aesthetician can do while you have full-blown sunburn. Less is more when trying to heal a sunburnt skin.
Lukewarm showers, use gentle hydrating, cleanser, no scrubs, no peels, no retinol, no heavy oil or waxed moisturizers. Take an anti-inflammatory like Tylenol to help with the inflammation discomfort and redness.
So when you’re red, call and reschedule instead! 🥵
