[RECAP] DTP MEDICAL x KANGNAM HOSPITAL | WORKSHOP: "APPLICATION OF WOUND - ALHYDRAN IN EARLY SCAR MANAGEMENT AFTER AESTHETIC PLASTIC SURGERY"
On April 4, 2026, DTP MEDICAL, in collaboration with Kangnam Hospital of Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery, successfully organized the workshop: "Early scar management after aesthetic plastic surgery".
The workshop featured clinical experiences in aesthetic practice from Dr. Vu Minh Tan (Deputy Head of Aesthetic Surgery Department) and MSc. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Nhung (Head Nurse), along with our special guest - Trong Nhan "Bye Beo".
The workshop highlighted a pivotal message as a "key" for early scar management after aesthetic plastic surgeries: optimal wound care and early intervention in scar care even on unepithelialized wounds.
During the medical meeting, the WOUND - ALHYDRAN protocol was presented as a comprehensive scar treatment approach, supporting a faster wound healing through creating a moist wound environment (WOUND) and providing long-term scar care for at least 2-3 months (ALHYDRAN) after wound closure.
Notably, sharing from Trong Nhan “Bye Beo” - an inspirational participant from “Full Glow-up Journey” Season 7 - provided a practical perspective on the benefits of a comprehensive scar management with the WOUND - ALHYDRAN protocol.
DTP MEDICAL sincerely thank all speakers and medical staff at Kangnam Hospital of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery for the valuable contributions to workshop success.
Now, let’s revisit some of the workshop’s highlights with us!

Let's look back at some impressive activities and moments of DTP MEDICAL at the HSAPS 2025 Conference!
13/12/2025
A PROMINENT SCIENTIFIC PRESENTATION PROVIDED BY DR. PHAN THI HONG VINH AT HSAPS 2025: “THE ROLE OF ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS AND MMRC TECHNOLOGY IN COMPREHENSIVE SCAR MANAGEMENT AFTER AESTHETIC SURGERY”
Within the academic agenda of the 25th Annual International Aesthetic Science Conference (HSAPS 2025) organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. Phan Thi Hong Vinh - Lecturer of Plastic Surgery Department, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine - presented a scientific presentation entitled: “Comprehensive Scar Management after Aesthetic Surgery: The Role of Essential Fatty Acids and MMRC Technology.”
The presentation highlighted key clinical priorities for both aesthetic surgeons and patients - accelerating wound healing, reducing early scar formation during the unepithelialized phase, and managing long-term scarring, itching, and redness after wound closure. With the practical approach, the presentation drew high interest from plastic surgeons seeking the effective strategies for comprehensive wound and scar management in daily clinical practices.
According to Dr. Phan Thi Hong Vinh, a well-regulated healing process that aligns with normal skin physiology can significantly reduce the risk of abnormal scarring. Regarding scar management, Dr. Phan Thi Hong Vinh emphasized that traditional approaches often focus solely on the proliferative phase after suture removal, whereas in reality, key determinants of scar formation emerge as early as the inflammatory stage. Therefore, postoperative scar management should be initiated early, continuous and long-term.
Dr. Phan Thi Hong Vinh also introduced a comprehensive scar management strategy consisting of: (1) Early-phase wound-healing support (immediately after skin suturing) using essential fatty acids (WOUND), and (2) Continuing monitoring and caring for the wound throughout the healing process, followed by long-term scar management thereafter - MMRC technology (ALHYDRAN).
Based on the physiological wound-healing model, Dr. Phan Thi Hong Vinh clarified how essential fatty acids (WOUND) support the unepithelialized phase by helping prevent infection, reduce prolonged inflammation, and maintain an ideal moist environment that promotes rapid and stable healing - thereby contributing to early scar prevention. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Vinh also analyzed the role of MMRC technology (ALHYDRAN) in reducing itching, redness and improving scar softness as well as enhancing the aesthetic appearance of scars after wound closure.
Evidence-based information related to MMRC technology - the scientific foundation behind ALHYDRAN - attracted considerable attention from plastic surgeons and aesthetic dermatologists due to its clinical application in post-operative scar management.
The distinctive feature of MMRC technology is its unique selection of ingredients: 45% pure Aloe Vera gel providing intensive hydration; oily substances that impair evaporation of skin moisture by forming an epicutaneous greasy film that impedes water loss; emollients; and antioxidants. This combination rapidly restores epidermal barrier function, balancing TEWL within just 2 hours and maintaining this effect for up to 4 hours. As a result, it helps prevent the abnormal scarring while effectively minimizing redness and itching - benefits that silicone-based products cannot fully provide.
Dr. Phan Thi Hong Vinh also noted that MMRC technology (ALHYDRAN) aligns well with the current needs of aesthetic surgeons: it not only addresses postoperative scar-related discomforts but also offers a long-term scar management solution thanks to its cream-based texture, which absorbs easily without occluding or irritating the skin.
From these analyses, Dr. Phan Thi Hong Vinh concluded that establishing a comprehensive scar management procedure - even before the inflammatory phase - plays a crucial role in optimizing wound healing and significantly reducing the risk of abnormal scarring in the long term. The combined protocol of essential fatty acids (WOUND) and MMRC technology (ALHYDRAN) provides an effective scar treatment that meets the demands of clinical practices. This approach received notable interest from cosmetic doctors at HSAPS 2025, marking a promising direction for scar reduction after aesthetic surgeries.
DTP MEDICAL extends our sincere appreciation to all physicians for their time and valuable discussions during the scientific report.
