Nail Retention?
An apex is strategically placed and created to help support the length of the free edge. As your nail grows out, this apex also grows and moves to a different part of your nail. This means your nails will not be as strong as they originally were when you first got them done. Whether you go 3 weeks or 8 weeks between appointments, everyoneβs retention may be different.

Meet Khanyisa π
Nail technician, owner of Khanyisanailz At Capri and nail trainer at Capri Academy and Clinic.
My love for nails started at a young age.I used to buy tips and nail glue and stick them on and blend them but I could never understand why they kept falling off (they obviously didn't have product onπ)
I always knew I loved nails but I didn't know I could actually make a career doing nails, also because parentsπ€¦πΎββοΈπ
. I worked as a cashier for years and later enrolled for a Psychological Counseling course at the University of South African but that urge for nails just wouldn't go away.
Long story short, I found CapriBeauty and spoke to Erika Breytenbach and I knew for sure I was enrolling for the course. I did nails working from home for a while after that but without groups like this,it wasn't easy, you do feel lost. I then looked for a second job doing nails still and that's when I worked at a salon in Sanlam center.
I later found out Capri was looking for a nail tech and that's how I ended up working at the academy I studied atπ€·πΎββοΈ. I worked for Capri for just over 2 years and became independent. I now work for myself, train others and hope and plan to make a difference in the industry and in someone else's life.
Life is already not easy on everybody, if I can help make a difference, even a little bit,I'm here for itππ

Builder gel has always fascinated me with their strength and durability but when the first Builder in a Bottle made its appearance on my shelves at Capri PRO Nails] , i must admit that i was sceptical.

FACTS ABOUT BUILDER IN A BOTTLE

MEET BOON π
is a Cape Town based nail artist, specializing in gel based nail art. Her journey began in 2019 when she joined in teaching a few nail art classes. She completed her training in 2020 at , shortly before the pandemic put a pause to the life we were all used to.
She spent those few months of lockdown planning to open her business and did so in June 2020.
She is passionate about nail art, creativity and creating a space that feels safe for all people to access.
Since she has opened her doors she has been featured in a number of publications and is a brand ambassador for .sa using products.
βI would never have predicted my life to have taken the course it has taken. I was never someone who painted my nails, and if I did, I would basically wear them till they were chipping. Now you would never catch me with a chipped nail π«£π
I cannot even begin to explain the wealth of gratitude I have to be in this industry. To create my own business, to call the shots in my own life (even though I tend to overwork myself- I am trying to fix that). The fact that I get to create art all day and earn a living from it has been something I can never get over. The relationships I have formed with clients and other nail techs has been incredible and I am a huge believer in bringing people up with me in this industry. I am passionate about all things nail art but most importantly I hope my role in this industry is one that promotes that nail art should be for everyone. Nail polish has no gender and I hope to show that through my work. I also want to encourage and teach everyone to do nail art. I cannot wait to grow this community and share this space so it can be safe and accessible for everyone.β

Attention Nail Techs, how do you know that you have a good quality Top Coat?
Your gel Top Coat will be expected to fulfil 5 very important tasks:
*It must provide your client with a long lasting shine that does not fade after 3 weeks.
*It had to properly seal in your gel polish and even your nail art.
*It has to have the correct viscosity to encapsulate nail art decals or gem stones and stickers.
*A gel Top Coat must never form small cracks on the nail surface. A good top coat like Mega Sheen must be able to adapt to the flexibility of any polish or nail system.
*For safety you should ALWAYS wipe the nails after curing your Top Coat. Even the βnon wipeβ top coats has got to ge wiped. There is a chance that an invisible inhibition layer could remain on the nail after curing. This can lead to allergic reactions. You can not test the quality of your gel lamp by how fast it cures a non wipe top coat.
*Use a Sanitiser like Go Wipe that contains 90% Isopropyl Alcohol to remove dust and inhibition (sticky) layer on the nails.
