One of the most common questions I get is:

“Will my hair grow back thicker after dermaplaning?”

Short answer: No.

Dermaplaning removes vellus hair (aka peach fuzz) and dead skin cells from the surface of the skin using a sterile blade. It does not affect the hair follicle beneath the skin—so it can’t change the thickness, colour, or speed of your hair growth.

Why can it feel different growing back? Because the hair has been cut straight across at the surface, the tip can feel blunt as it grows out—but it’s still the same hair.
