IF JESUS CAME TO YOUR HOUSE 🤯

I’m not sure who, but somewhere at sometime someone said this. And I get it.

Tonight, like many nights before, I asked God to speak to me.

“I want a word from you, God. Directly from you, directly to me.“

“Even if it’s not what you want to hear..?”

My heart sank. Maybe because I am afraid of what He is going to say. Maybe because I feel convicted. Can I say I love God when I’m not willing to hear and obey all of Him..?

We do that sometimes. We avoid the truth. That way we can pretend like we didn’t know. That way we can remain naïve and comfortable, even if it means being stagnant and trapped.

Sometimes, the truth is hard. It forces us to face the things that might just lead us to change. It scares us, but it frees us. Slowly, we learn that safety is not found in familiarity, but in faith.

So, yes. I will still ask God for a word. Even if it’s not what I want to hear. Because hard things might scare me, but what I’m most afraid of, is the silence of the God I say I love.
