A group of researchers published a study in the Journal of Chinese Medicine - focusing on looking at how Ganoderma lucidum extracts would affect specific pathways associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (Lupus)...

The study was done on mice - but this is a standard protocol used and opens up ideas for future studies on human subjects.

Ganoderma lucidum had anti-inflammatory effects. Numerous cytokines associated with inflammation in lupus patients were effectively reduced. Inflammation is one of the key factors associated with lupus.
