Loving the long skirt. Which is your favorite?

Today I completed the bodice pattern for my dress. I just need to do the facings for the neckline and button placket. I will then cut out the pattern using a bed sheet and sew it all up to see how it turns out.

This was the Start of my 2nd attempt at making my dress. This is the bodice block which I have then traced off to make adjustments and add seam allowance. I will share those once completed. I am making a size 8 and I'm actually a size 6, so I'll make this one and then a size 6 ( getting lots of practice )

I was sipping on a warm coffee today, thinking about the clothes we wear each day, wondering how much our clothes become part of our identity. We put so much thought and energy into choosing just the right outfit that reflects all the parts of us under the surface. Our clothes tell this story of us, bringing all the pieces together and forming an introduction, body and conclusion. Adding splashes of colour, softness and texture and we step out into our day most times oblivious to the fact that our inner lives are on our sleeve...
So when I think about creating clothes, I want to create them to bring out the beauty, the confidence, the passion for life and love inside all of us. I want the genre to be adventure, romance, action and drama ( in the good sense ). Clothes are more than just clothes, they are our inner literature and we are the pen.

Do you prefer the traditional wedding dress or something a little different?

I recently heard about English paper piecing, it really looks fun. Has anyone else done this?

I thought I would share a coffeeshop I like to visit, it's called Clay cafe. it's not only a place to have coffee or tea but it is a place to be creative, where children can play, run and laugh. My husband bought me this book for Christmas and eachday I open it on a new page and while I'm running after my 10month old I glance at it and feel inspired by the beautiful garments.

Each time I sit down infront of my sewing machine I feel a mix of absolute excitement and nerves all at the same time. I know that once I start sewing, I will be transported into another realm but I also feel my breath catch in my throat. Does anyone else feel this way?
