The lovely , patient & amazing entrepreneur, @vicky_grobler was introduced to me by her hubby-my client. Vicky is the perfect client to work on… she is open to suggestions & allowed me to do my thing. She trusted me all the way. We went from your typical full head hilights - which were very pretty but she was looking for something modern, trendy & maintenance friendly with a darker base. So I suggested a reverse balayage , ombré. She loves the icy white blonde & had previous hilights . We went in with k18 to treat the hair prior to lifting the color. Scattered hilights & tinted her roots to mid lengths in between the foils. Once we got our lift we did a basin balayage to brighten the ends. Vicky wanted to go lighter on the ends. I went in with a freehand ombré technique to lift through any warmth that was left & rinsed immediately once we got the correct lift. If you want an icy blonde you have to lift it to a very clean blonde. Unfortunately, due to her having previous hilights we did experience some of the ends being compromised. We did an express Olaplex to pretreat her hair prior to applying her glaze. We did a root tap & glazed the hair with Schwartzkopf blonde me toners. Once we processed , we cleansed the hair an applied the k18 leave-in masque treatment. Living in South Africa we get loadshedding so we could finish styling the hair on the day. I got Vicky to come in a week later. We did a full Olaplex treatment, wash & style at no cost to her just so I could complete the job and get my Insta pics 🤣. I couldn’t be more grateful to have such an amazing individual in my chair , also she got to tell me all about her amazing business. We had to consider 2 things … we had a budget and we still wanted to ensure the integrity of the hair stayed healthy. I used different formulas to achieve this result. Using @schwarzkopfproza Igora Royal globally on zone1 and weaving out pieces and applying it through to zone 2 & 3 to create depth and texture in the Colour as she had a solid ombré on the ends. The sections I left out I glazed with @redken shades eq to tone her blonde down to a chrome matt tone maintaining the lighter tones to create contrast between the darker tones. A perfect example of salon light versus natural sunlight. This beautiful young lady came in after several years of playing with her color and experimenting with box color she finally decided to try go back to her natural copper color. I used reset color remover to remove as much unwanted pigment as possible , we then used the copper shade that was left behind and matched it to her natural zone 1 with @redken shades eq. We trimmed and treated the hair with @kerastase_official #fusiodose and styled using @ghd_southafrica #helios . We took some images in the salon but it just wasn’t capturing the true tone of the color … and you can see the difference in the natural light… stunning!!! What do you think ? This beautiful young lady came in after several years of playing with her color and experimenting with box color she finally decided to try go back to her natural copper color. I used reset color remover to remove as much unwanted pigment as possible , we then used the copper shade that was left behind and matched it to her natural zone 1 with @redken shades eq. We trimmed and treated the hair with @kerastase_official #fusiodose and styled using @ghd_southafrica #helios .
