Rhizotomy (nerve ablation). Very long overdue! Last procedure was done in 2019, and it seems to last about +- 8months, to help make pain more tolerable.

Not a easy one, but almost done! Thank goodness!

2024 - year of healing, here we come.

All went well with hospital stay, I am so grateful to say that I am in good hands! . Not a single test or scan left out.

I am so grateful for the people that have been part of this journey 🙏

The Professor has confirmed rheumatoid arthritis aswell as Spondylosis in spine. She is keeping me on the 3 different immunosuppressants, to slow down the progress of the disease. It has affected both wrists (carpal tunnel, Osteopenia & tendonitis) both shoulders (ac joints degeneration) both hips and both ankles. And then the spine... Disc are degenerating, protruding and bulging onto spinal cord - so spinal stenosis. The lowest discs have started to fuse themselves... Facet hypertrophy & then bone cysts on sacroiliac joints.

Sooooo the way forward :

I will continue with facet blocks and Rhizotomys for the time being. We are going to try and prevent back surgery for as long as possible, because of the severity, at such a young age. (L3 to S2 affected and diagnosed when I was 20) First appointment with pain specialist is in January, so I will be off again for a few days. Unfortunately I need to slow down and take it easy for the sake of my health - this goes along with lifestyle changes.

- I will be working by appointment only.
- I will only be working 3 days a week. Wednesday's , Friday's & Saturday's.

I will be off from the 15th of November until the 20th of November for pain management and to determine which areas have/have not been affected by RA & AS, so that we can adjust long term treatment accordingly.

It all started with bone formation in my feet around age 14, at 21 my spine and facet joints, now 28 wrists and shoulders.

I have been put on triple imunno therapy since April this year (to slow down the progress of disease) it's been a toughy but I am still fighting 💪

I'm fighting a few silent battles, so please excuse me for being quiet this year 🙏 it's been a really tough year, with severe loadshedding, water shortages, the insane price increases, SA's financial crisis, the works.

I thank you, for your patience and kindness towards me, for the prayers, the tears, joy and laughter & for understanding & still supporting me. You are a big part of my journey ❤️
