One of the best practices to support your cycle is PREPARATION, we bleed every month so it’s not a surprise. Leading to your menstrual phase it’s important that you keep warm, get enough nutrition (so leave alcohol out of it for the week leading up).

I made an inexpensive soup with sweet potatoes 🍲

Benefits :
1. It’s Warm so it supports blood circulation
2. Chicken feet that is slowed cooked makes for good broth which is rich in collagen, gelatin, high in calcium and magnesium
3. Sweet potatoes are high in magnesium and potassium (good for muscle relaxation)
4. Anti-inflammatory ( reduces the soreness)

I will always advocate for natural remedies before running to the doctors because of one simple reality: access and doctors don’t always know how to treat our problems.

If you’re struggling with menstrual pain try this out I’m always willing to share what works for me or what I find useful.

I’m currently reading a book called Pleasure Activism by Adrienne Maree Brown, I think what I’m enjoying most about the book so far is how it’s deconstructing and reaffirming my ideas around pleasure. Not necessarily pleasure of material things or excessive indulgence , but pleasure as a practice.

AMB, defines pleasure activism as “the work we do to reclaim our whole, happy, and satisfiable selves from the impacts, delusions and limitations of oppression” (whatever that looks like in your environment). She asserts that pleasure is a natural, save and liberated part of life that doesn’t threaten it but enriches it.

i’ve always lived knowing this subconsciously but it was really nice to come across this kind of reading and it gave even more context into my relationship with things that make me feel good and the ideas that I have about abundance , joy , happiness, and scarcity.

I feel like this book put into words that there doesn’t have to be a “special occasion” to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. You don’t need a reason to show up in ways that make you feel good. It is your birthright. It is part of your human experience and that was very liberating to hear.

Only because subconsciously I too prison myself into believing that I need to be deserving of things to receive things or that something has to be spectacular to actually find gratitude in it. It doesn’t have too way, pleasure can be found in the tiniest of things, maybe the things you overlook.

Embracing my divine, my whimsical in this way is deeply meditative. There’s a pause here that I’ve learned to protect, where I ask myself: how do I feel, which part of my body needs attention, do I have the capacity for it, do you enjoy what ?

It’s taken a long time to become this person. Naturally I want to rush through things. But this is surprisingly one of the few places in my life where I’m okay with taking things slow and I find that deeply meditative. Very considerate of me.

It can always be different for you, but I hope that this was helpful to you.

Some weeks take a little too much from you, this is how I pour back ✨🌸

I’ve gotten into the habit of doing things that I like, that make me feel good . Things that draw me in, inspire me to explore my own sensuality and inner calm. Sometimes that means doing something as extra like bathing in milk and honey. It feels like I’m sharing something scared with my body, and I love that feeling.
