She was 89 years old, never wore makeup ,not once!
I traveled out to help a few ladies with makeup for the day, i noticed this woman in a corner in her wheelchair who didn't really look okay.. I was told her husband died few years back and she's sunken into a deep depression state ever since an that she herself didn't have long💔 I continued to finish off the ladies with their makeup but all I could think about was this 89 year old woman! Once I was finished..i approach the woman, I kneeled down, held her hand and said I would absolutely love to do your makeup(obviously no charge) she didn't say anything but just looked at me with hurtful uninterested eyes.. I asked her if that was okay, it won't take long? She said with a shaky voice.. I've never worn makeup before..That's all I needed to hear..so i stood up with some sort of hope in my heart that she would be happy even if it was just for a day..Once I was done with her makeup, i pushed her wheelchair slowly towards the mirror, she looked up.. stared at herself for a little while and smiled! She smiled❤️we cried together, smiled together(everyone was extremely emotional) standing in silence absorbing her reaction until a hand touched my shoulder an her daughter told me that that was the first time they've seen her smile in almost 7 years..When I say i cried.. I CRIED!...I was able to connect❤️ My biggest dream is to be a nurse, my passion is art but because of limitations of being a nurse(area & finances) I combine the two together an sometimes the results can be life changing.. I will always think about the 89 year old lady who I made smile, even if it was just for a day and how she made me cry all the way home❤️
