Unaesthetic post: Today we had to let someone down. The mass of guilt I felt today because we couldn’t get to our wedding guest party is indescribable. I have never let anyone down in my 20years doing makeup. I’ve worked the day after my niece died and got on with it. But today was something else. We were turned away by a police officer as our vehicle wouldn’t make it. With 100’s and thousands stranded and an already weighed down disaster management team, I get it. But we couldn’t show up. Snow tourists had messed up the road already. So while people got to see snow, we didn’t get to show up. And to fellow wedding service providers please be mindful of how you word your “ we never let anyone down posts” with snow pics, some service providers just couldn’t get there.

In my 14 years plus working in the wedding industry, I am constantly reminded how small the world truly is. Whilst doing Heathers trial, my high school besties’ brother walks in.
Nats: “What are you doing here?”
Emile: “This is my fiancé”
Nats: “Shut up!”

Serving the controversial monday tea: Bridesmaids. Choose well. Your bridal party can make or break your day. Choose those that will support you, choose those that will bring the vibe and choose those who know it’s about you and not them.
If you have been asked to be a bridesmaid, remember it will cost you some money. If you can’t afford it rather be upfront and honest about it. I have seen too many friendships spoilt over bitterness as a result of the cost of being a bridesmaid. Not all brides are in the financial position to pay for everything.

I often get asked about bridezillas. To be honest I don’t often have a bridezilla. But a bridesmaidzilla or a momzilla, plenty. Just blend and serve ladies. Blend and serve.

BMs are the life of your wedding morning. I have met the most amazing ladies through weddings. This lady in particular brought me many laughs on this day!

One of the first questions we ask at your trial is who your photographer is. It’s is really important as the style of some photographers or the presets used could potentially change the look of your makeup. We always aim to make your makeup look fit in with their style and ensure that you look good in all colours, presets and black and white. Please bare that in mind when we discuss your makeup look.

But can we just agree that we all want someone to look at us the way Jess is looking at her groom 🥰😍
