Her business is situated at Welgevonden, Stellenbosch. "Cokiswa" means "to look after" or "to take care". Coki grew up in Kayamandi township and was raised by her mother and grandmother. In Coki's community, when the young parents went to work the grandparents automatically had to raise or look after the little ones, hence she says she was partly raised by her grandmother, Ida. Ida influenced her decision to enter the beauty industry. After finishing matric in Stellenbosch in 2005, Coki studied at the Isa Carstens Academy were she was groomed and trained to be the therapist she is today. In 2008 she left the country for the first time and went to England for training before joining the cruise liners where she performed both skin and body treatments. In 2010, the year of the world cup, Coki came back to South Africa with the hopes of not missing out on the opportunities we all thought 2010 would bring. She worked at various salons in the Winelands, including the Isa Wellness Sanctuary, a boutique hotel in Franschhoek, the Stellenbosch Hydro, Perfect 10 and Placecol. In 2018, Coki started working at Madeleen in Stellenbosch, and she loved it. When the Covid19 pandemic hit South Africa, businesses and therapists in Coki's industry were severely affected. The therapists found themselves in a position where they either had to find new jobs or take the opportunity to start their own businesses. In July 2020, Coki was so fortunate that she was given an opportunity to start her own business, Radiance By Coki.
