Linalool is a cannabis terpene that plays a role in the characteristic aroma and flavor of certain cannabis strains. It is a monoterpene, meaning it has two isoprene units, which is the smallest possible unit of a terpene. Linalool has a pleasant floral, lavender, and spiced scent, often with a hint of spice. It's most commonly found in indica and hybrid strains and has been identified in some sativa varieties as well. It belongs to the same family of compounds as limonene and terpinolene, and is one of the most abundant terpenes in cannabis.

The effects of linalool on the body depend largely on the other terpenes present in the cannabis strain. Generally speaking, linalool has been associated with sedation and relaxation, although its effects can vary greatly. It has been suggested that linalool can be used to reduce stress, promote better sleep, and help alleviate pain and inflammation. In addition to its effects on the body, linalool is also known to have antimicrobial, antifungal, and insecticidal properties.

Limonene is know to have antifungal and antimicrobial properties (2).
