Money Personalities can play a big role in discussions and habits about money. Even if both partners are debt-free, the conflict between a Spender and Saver can play out in multiple ways. It is important to know what your money personality is as well as that of your partner and to discuss these differences openly.

For instance, the Saver will always be agitated by the Spender.

Chances are the Spender will feel neglected by their inability to spend.

Solution: Determine who the Saver and who the Spender is in the relationship. As you sit to have your money conversation, the goal should be to listen to how the other feels.

Create a Budget that allows for both Investing & Savings and allowances for spending.
E.g the 60/20/20 Income Budget rule
20% Investments
60% Expenses
20% Spending

The Saver will always ensure that the future is secure whilst the Spender ensures you don’t miss out on the present.

Both parties are pertinent. All you have to do is listen to your person and plan together.
