Witnessing a woman die while bringing life is the most painful thing that breaks us to pieces,why because pregnant women are not patients but clients.when a pregnant woman dies the four walls of the labour room become cold and the atmosphere changes.
We always look for who to blame when someone dies.
We always ask ourselves questions that are left unanswered.
I wish the members of public can see how the entire hospital or clinic runs around just to save a life,everything just changes in a blink of an eye.
We are not trying to justify ourselves, but we will forever ask ourselves why? for the rest of our lives.
My deepest condolences to the family, may God comfort them.

The Being Midwife

I am a midwife,
My role is simply to save a life.
And for that, I am happy and proud;
My happiness today is loud.

In these hospitals,
Life is like a road, both tarred and in potholes.
Sadly, expecting mothers go through so much pain for so long,
And yet to their fruits, they ought to be very strong.

Midwives go through a lot,
Yet they strive so life should be lost not.
For safe delivery matters a lot to a pregnant woman;
As the child is the photocopy of her being human.
Midwives see so much sadness,
But in return they give utmost kindness.

I am a midwife,
I am called specifically to save a life.
Give hope even when a woman is in despair,
So that peace is felt everywhere.
In fact this not just a mere a fact,
Our call to save humanity is still intact

Midwives' role is to prevent deaths,
Whilst presenting more breaths.
So they strive hard not to lose a soul,
Seeing all the pregnant women deliver safely is their main stream goal.

I am a midwife,
One who loves saving a life.
I am so proud of my profession;
For being a midwife was my intention.
To be present when the child is being born at any given day,
Is to honor my eyes to see expecting days blown away.

As midwives, it really pays much just to be there,
Offering our services to the expecting mothers.
And by such an act, we show them how much we do care;
For we are there professional significant others.

I am a midwife,
So firm, thoughtful and matured.
My substance is that of gold;
For I show no mark doubt like a goddess, powerful and bold.

Happy International day to all the midwives out there.
Thank you for making sure that our mothers delivered safely.
We are alive today because you provided good services at the hour of our births.
