ARVs are not a sign of weakness they are proof that you chose life, health and a future. Some days may feel heavy, tiring or unfair but every dose you take is protecting your body, your dreams, and the people you love. You are not your status. You are still worthy of love, respect, joy, and big plans. Keep going ,your consistency is powerful and your life matters 💙

A vibrant for people living with HIV local organisation, Zimbabwe HIV/AIDS Activist Union Community Trust (ZHAAU CT) is looking for passionate, activists oriented individuals to be part of their team as volunteers.

Roles discriptions:

Title: Distict Community Officers (DCOs) Mashonaland West province
Kariba × 1
Sanyati × 1
Zvimba × 1
Chegutu × 1
Makonde × 1
Mhondoro Ngezi × 1
Hurungwe × 1

√ The DCOs will be supervising all Area Community Focal Persons (ACOs) in their respective districts.
√ Coordinating all district organisational related programs in their respective jurisdictions.
√Drafting of district programs reports and monitoring district members database.
√Reporting to the PCO.

The incumbent candidate should be;
-A person living with HIV and above 18 year old.
-A resident of the district they will be working for.
-Able to read and write
-Commited to work with minimum supervision.
-Able to work as a team.
-Sober habits.

One thing l have learnt as l work closely with people living with HIV for some time now is to let normalise to tell our live-in partners of our HIV positive status at an earliest time possible, so that not to compromise our pill intake.

Furthermore, it might have some challenges in keeping your viral load suppressed (through re-infections) since you will be taking your ARVs but your unaware partner might be unknowingly infected (probably living with high viral load).

I encourage;
✓ same visit couple testing.
✓same day couple's ARVs refill visit.
✓same day couple viral load testing.
Remember always to use CONDOMS!!!

Love and compassion are our greatest tools in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

✅ Name: Tonderai Chiduku (affectionately known as Mkoma Tonde)
✅ Role: Founding Father, Zimbabwe National Network of People Living with HIV (ZNNP+)

✅ His Story:
When HIV was a death sentence spoken only in fearful whispers, Mkoma Tonde found his voice — and gave it to thousands who had none. He is the last living pioneer of ZNNP+, a movement born when there was no medicine, no protection, no roadmap — only stigma, silence, and graves.

Yet in that darkness, he lit a match of courage. Where others hid, he stood tall. Where others whispered, he roared. Where others waited for death, he chose life — not only for himself, but for generations yet unborn.

Mkoma Tonde’s footsteps echo through time, reminding us that no night is too long when we stand together, shoulder to shoulder, heart to heart.

✅ How He Champions Change:
When the world looked away, Mkoma Tonde and 21 other fearless souls marched barefoot from Marondera to Parliament — demanding life where there was only loss. Their footsteps carved a path to the National AIDS Council Act, the AIDS Levy, and a future that once seemed impossible.

Decades later, age may bend his back, but it has not broken his spirit. He still rises, still speaks truth to power, still holds out his hand to lift others up from the shadows of stigma and despair. For him, the fight is never over — because every life saved is worth every breath he has left.

What began with 12 brave voices has become a mighty chorus of over 50,000 people living openly, boldly, and protected under the very laws he helped create. Families have been spared. Children have grown up with parents who once had no hope. Entire communities stand stronger — because Mkoma Tonde once chose to believe that no human being should ever die in silence.

It remains a matter of great concern to see that a lot of men still do shun to access health services and meaningful involvement in matters around health issues. Its also worrisome that we still have a lot of men who would prefer going for traditional herbs than seeking proffessional medical support.
