All abuse and neglect create a lifelong impact on the child's brains, bonds and behaviors. The effects of abuse create a lifetime impact such as missing developmental milestones, senseless behaviors, not able to calm down, brain development altered, increased impulsivity, eating disorders, suicidal or homicidal thoughts, aggressive behaviors, sexually acting out, discomfort with touch or affection and other high-risk behaviors. Try not to panic when you see these behaviors because they are telling us that the child is in pain and they are looking to discharge or release their pain. As parents and relatives of children with trauma histories, you may need to find a support group where you can discuss your questions, confusion and pain. LETS SAY NO TO CHILD ABUSE
Effects of child abuse include increased fear, guilty and self-blame, distrust of adults or difficulty forming relationships with others, disrupted attachments with those who are meant to keep them safe, mental health disorders such as anxiety, attachment, post-traumatic stress and depression disorders. lets protect our children, say no to child abuse.
Child abuse takes many forms, which often occur at the same time, such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, medical abuse and even neglect. Neglect is failure to provide adequate food, shelter, affection, supervision, education or dental or medical care. in many cases, child abuse is done by someone the child knows and trusts, often a parent or other relatives.
If you suspect child abuse, report the abuse to the proper authorities.
Any intentional harm or mistreatment to a child under 18 years old is considered child abuse. It is not just physical violence at a child but it is any form of maltreatment by an adult, which is violent or threatening for the child.
