The pimento tree is the only native spice tree in Jamaica. Jamaicans have been honoring its history and tradition since the 1500’s.

The name pimento originated from the Spanish word’ pimiento’ (pepper or peppercorn) and is called ‘pimento’ or’ allspice’ in Jamaica.
