How I got rid of my acne and dark marks.
The whole process took about 5 months. (Yes.. Consistency pays off) You really can have amazing skin without visiting a dermatologist. I decided to buy the products after so much research as my last option before i could visit a dermatologist which was so expensive. I would highly recommend making this worthwhile investment if your skin is giving you headaches like mine used to. So I bought the products in South Africa which is the cheaper option but they are also available in Zimbabwe in the stores I mention below. Those who'd like to have assistance buying from SA can send a DM message and will try be of help.
1. Benzac Peroxide (15% strength). Available in Booties pharmacy first street. This fought my battle of acne as I was used to getting one pimple after the other which would result in formation of dark spots. You really want to stop the acne first to make sure you limit new formation of dark spots. I promise you even if you cannot get the other products, buy this one. Sadly I hadn't taken pics of my acne. Only realized I should take pictures after had seen the acne go away. Only the dark marks were left. I was so impressed.
2. Glycolic acid exfoliator. Available at Nasus Beauty Bar. This is a liquid exfoliator which will gently strip away your top layer to reveal smooth baby skin underneath. This is very gentle as compared to most scrubs. This is to be used once a week and proper procedure should be followed otherwise it can burn your skin.
3. Cleanser with salicylic acid. Available in Booties pharmacy. I used the Clean and Clear cleanser which also benefits your skin if you have acne. Salicylic acid is also a chemical exfoliator just like glycolic.
4. Eucerin toner. (Also booties pharmacy) This greatly helped my skin to even it out overally and minimize the oiliness because what it does is to help your skin to maintain a balanced pH.
5. Clear Essence Moisturizer. ( Available in Hairworld, Hairlicious and Kwame mall)This is a very important game changer for my skin. It also contains sunscreen to avoid dark marks from recurring.
6. Neutrogena oil free moisturizer. ( Available in booties Pharmacy) I used this after washing my face in the evening as an overnight moisturizer. It smells divine and also contains the magic ingredient (salicylic acid).
7. Sunscreen. I use the Forever living sunscreen which also has anti aging benefits. However any other sunscreen would probably work especially spf30+. I bought this from a friend. ( you can DM for contact)
Additional Products:
1. I used vital vitamin pills for skin, hair and nails for one month then I stopped. Could really see difference especially with my hair.
2. I use natural manuka honey as a face mask once or twice a week.
Questions are welcome. Should you decide to try this routine, let me know how your journey goes. Proper procedures of how to use these products are available in another post on the page. I hope someone finds this useful.

5 Reasons why your skin isn't glowing🙁
1. Your choice of products. There are 4 different skin types namely normal, dry, oily and combination skin. The goal of using skincare products is to make sure our skin gets as close to normal skin as possible. The reason why other products which work for other people won't automatically work for yours is most likely because it synced well with their skin type but can raise hell for yours. So before you purchase a product which worked fine for your neighbor, first assess your skin. Is it normal, dry, oil or combination? Most products will specify which skin types they perform well on so that's one thing to check before you just buy.
2. Exfoliation: This is one of the most vital steps your skin requires but are you doing it correctly? There are 2 types of exfoliation namely mechanical and chemical. Mechanical exfoliation include our very much loved scrubs, while chemical exfoliation include the use of acids I.e glycolic, salicylic, lactic, etc. During my skin clearing journey, I've come to realize that chemical exfoliation is by far the best form of exfoliation and we need to invest in these acids. Most scrubs are very harsh to the skin, striping away their natural oils. This will cause the skin to produce more oil which will give us oily skin which is = blackheads. Exfoliation should only be done once a week.
3. Cleansing method: It is important that we cleanse our skin 2 times a day, everyday. This is to remove all the dirt and oils our skin produces which can clog our pores. Also be sure you clean your skin thoroughly first by using oil. This is because oil will attract oil hence it is an effective way of getting rid of the oils and dirt in your skin. You can use natural coconut oil as an oil cleanser. Follow the oil cleanser with a forming cleanser and then rinse it off. Also during cleansing, be sure to follow the "60 second rule" which is basically washing your face for at least 60seconds to give time for your products to work through your skin.
4. Routine: The most simple routine which will not disappoint is to Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise. This might seem like it is too much but trust me it is actually compulsory if flawless is the goal. Therefore pamper yourself every morning and evening and reward yourself with glowing skin.
5. Inconsistency: give products at least 4 weeks to notice the difference. Take up this challenge to mend up your skincare routine and you will definitely see results. Do not expect to see results within a day but be sure you cultivate patience and you will not regret it.
Extra note:
* For those suffering from blackheads and pimples, try to pick products with salicylic acid and they will do wonders for your skin as it cleans pores from within.
